Our Wauseon FFA members had an incredible and rewarding trip to the 98th Ohio FFA State Convention in Columbus this weekend! From exploring campus life to being recognized on the big stage, it was a weekend to remember.
Day 1: Exploration & Inspiration
We kicked off the trip with a tour of the Controlled Environment Agriculture Research Complex (CEARC) at Waterman Agricultural and Natural Resources Laboratory. It was a fascinating look at the future of agricultural technology and research in action!
Later that afternoon, we headed to the Second General Session at the Celeste Center. We heard a powerful keynote message from Jason Hewlett, which definitely gave us some great takeaways to bring back to our chapter. We wrapped up the night with some well-deserved fun and team bonding at Scene75.
Day 2: Celebrating Excellence
Day two was all about celebrating the hard work and "Gold Standard" of our members. During the morning session, Wauseon was well-represented on stage:
• Gold Rated Officer Books: A huge congratulations to our officers for their meticulous record-keeping and dedication!
-Secretary’s Book: Lainey Zientek
-Treasurer’s Book: Sophia Medina
-Reporter’s Book: Jacob Klopfenstein
• State Champion: We are so proud of Richard Noonan for placing 1st as an individual in the State Agricultural Soils Contest!
• State Degree Recipients: The highest honor a state can bestow upon its members. Congratulations to our five newest State Degree recipients for achieving this major milestone:
-Richard Noonan
-Miles Colon
-Harlie Hensley
-Luke Conrad
-Madison Lane
We are so proud of everyone who attended and represented Wauseon FFA with pride. It’s a great day to be a Wauseon FFA member!
