e-CYCLING TOMORROW!!! Open every Friday from 9am-4pm. All proceeds help fund our nonprofit's service programs!

ELECTRONICS: Cost is $0.49/lb (smoke detectors: flat-rate $15).

BATTERIES: Cost is $2.29/lb for rechargeable batteries ($4.99/lb if structurally damaged or unlabeled); Cost for lead acid car batteries is $5.00 each.

Last week, we took in a new category of electronics - electronic heated insoles! They're a great example of just how diverse a variety of electronics we accept - more than some might believe. If it has a power cord or is battery-operated, odds are it's a device we take!

Not sure if we're able to take the type of device you've got? Follow the link below for reference to the many items we accept, and the very short list of electronics we're unable to accept:

See you tomorrow for e-CYCLING! Thank you for helping us Be the Good!

Next week the Mobile HELP Truck will be out-and-about in central and north-central Wisconsin. The truck stops in Antigo, Athens, Birnamwood, Edgar, Marshfield, Merrill, Minocqua/Woodruff, Mosinee, Rhinelander, Stratford and Tomahawk.

Two weeks each month, medical equipment is brought to people who live outside of Wausau, making it easier for them to borrow equipment from the Health Equipment Lending Program.

Our truck stops at a central business location and parks for an hour, allowing people to return items that they have borrowed, pick up items that they reserved in advance and donate no-longer-needed equipment.

The program provides short term loans of gently used medical equipment (things like wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, crutches, etc) to people need. A monetary donation for the loaned items is suggested, but not required.

If you, or someone you know, need to borrow home medical equipment, you can call Good News Project (715-843-5985) to find out more information. If you live in the Wausau Area you can pick up the items at the office, 1106 N 5th St.

For further information call 715-843-5985 or go to goodnewswi.com and look for the Mobile HELP Truck under OUR PROGRAMS.

iPads aren't built to take a beating! If you accidentally turned your iPad into an iHad, don't forget to bring it in to us, and we'll make sure its materials are put to good (re)use. iPads, like all memory-containing devices brought to Good News Project, are prepared for final recycling before ultimately being sent directly to our R2V3- and E-Stewards-certified, DNR-registered end recycling partner, right here in WI. Memory-containing devices are rendered unrecoverable up to or exceeding state, federal, and Department of Defense standards! Data destruction is taken extremely seriously - as it should be!

Hello Friends! We are looking for volunteers for this weekend's event up in Merrill. We are currently looking for people to help with e-CYCLING in Merrill. The shift times are 11:30-5 on Friday, June 5th and 8:00 - Noon on Saturday, June 6th. This event takes place up in Merrill at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in the Sell Building. No prior experience is needed. If you are interested in helping out, please call or text Rouleen at 715-409-6019. This Merrill e-CYCLING Event is a key fundraiser for Good News Project. Through this event, programs like HELP are able to continue to provide medical equipment for those in need.

After quite a few requests, we are positively charged up to say that we're now accepting lead acid car, RV, and boat batteries for recycling! We accept them at a cost of $5.00 per battery - as with all other e-CYCLING we do, all proceeds help fund our service programs in the community.

We know there are a number of area options for recycling your lead acid automotive batteries, but we're proud to be the only area option where all proceeds help raise money for CHARITY! If you've already got e-CYCLING or other rechargeable batteries to drop off with us, bring your unwanted automotive battery with too, and get all your recycling done in one convenient stop - all while helping those in need in our community!

(Intact batteries only - we are unable to accept car/RV/boat batteries that are leaking acid or otherwise present an immediate safety hazard)

See you tomorrow for e-CYCLING! Thank you for helping us Be the Good!
