e-CYCLING TOMORROW!!! Open every Friday from 9am-4pm. All proceeds help fund our nonprofit's service programs!

ELECTRONICS: Cost is $0.49/lb (smoke detectors: flat-rate $15).

BATTERIES: Cost is $2.29/lb for rechargeable batteries ($4.99/lb if structurally damaged or unlabeled); Cost for lead acid car/boat/RV batteries is $5.00 each.

Do you trust your electronics recycler?!

That's a remarkably important question. Your data security matters even after you've dropped your electronics off to be recycled, and a surprising number of area recyclers don't take that anywhere near seriously enough. We do!

All electronics recycled with Good News Project have a direct, secure chain of custody from our hands to our R2V3- and E-Stewards-certified, DNR-registered end recycling partner right here in WI! We receive certification in return that all memory-containing devices are rendered unrecoverable via processes that meet or exceed all federal, state, and local standards and regulations. Your data is kept secure, just like it deserves!

We’re now accepting scrap metal donations every Friday during our e-CYCLING hours of 9am-4pm!

Don't feel up to making a trip out to the scrapyard? Already planning to bring electronics or health equipment to us? Bringing your steel, aluminum, copper, and iron to Good News Project helps provide wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers and more to those in need!

Things are getting a little spooky around Good News Project! 👻

Our ghostly helpers have been busy delivering paperwork, cleaning equipment, and taking the occasional boo-room break.

Good help is hard to find, especially when you can see right through them :)

We have some exciting news to share, and we couldn't be prouder of Rouleen!

Please join us in congratulating Good News Project's own Rouleen Gartner on earning her Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) credential!

This is a pretty big deal! The CVA is the only internationally recognized credential in volunteer administration, held by a community of more than 1,200 professionals worldwide.

Earning this certification takes experience, dedication, a thorough understanding of volunteer leadership, and passing a comprehensive exam.

Rouleen has been part of the Good News Project family for almost six years, and during that time, she's played an important role in supporting the volunteers who help make our mission possible.

At Good News Project, volunteers are at the heart of so much of what we do. Having someone with Rouleen's dedication, experience, and now this professional certification helping lead those efforts means a great deal to our organization and the people we serve.

Congratulations, Rouleen! We're lucky to have you on our team, and we're so proud of you!

We can't help you find your lost phone, tablet, car key fob, ear buds, smart watch, or other portable devices, but if they're at the end of their useful life, we can definitely make the hunt for a responsible recycler an easy one! Bring them to us any Friday and we'll make sure they have a dignified second life through sustainable material reclamation.

Did you know? We offer a resource that people outside of the Wausau area can use to borrow gently used home medical equipment.

If you, or someone you know, need to borrow home medical equipment (things like wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, crutches, etc), our program provides short term loans to people need. Please call Good News Project to reserve your items in advance. If we have what you need, we can bring it to your community for you to pick up. A monetary donation for the loaned items is suggested, but not required.

The Mobile HELP Truck, provided by Good News Project, travels to eleven communities two times each month to bring reserved home medical equipment right to the many communities to people in need. Previous equipment borrowed from Good News Project can be returned at the truck, and donations of ‘gently used’ medical equipment will be accepted, as items are needed.

WEATHER PROTOCOL – If our truck is unable to make the trip to your community on a given day, we will post a message on this local social media site. We will call everyone who is scheduled to pick up equipment.
