🌟We are pleased to announce that JoAnn Hoffman has been chosen as our 2026 Neighbor of the Year! 🌟
JoAnn embodies kindness, generosity, and community spirit. She is a familiar face in Waunakee, lending her time and talents to many organizations around the village.
JoAnn has been a dedicated volunteer and leader in our WNC donation sorting room since 2019. She carefully and respectfully prepares items for our community store, and she manages our "Needs List" for special item requests, along with a million other duties to help our store operations run smoothly!
Additionally, JoAnn has been volunteering at the Waunakee Food Pantry for over 10 years, getting orders packed and ready for their weekly distributions.
She is also very involved with the community outreach programs at Peace Lutheran Church where, as leader of the Stewardship Committee, she supports and promotes ongoing community projects, such as “Sammy’s Buddy Bench Project” and the PLC Quilters, who generously donate beautiful quilts every winter to the grateful recipients at Waunakee Neighborhood Connection.
JoAnn is a dedicated volunteer with the local election commission, helping with all aspects of our elections in Waunakee. She is also a Special Voting Deputy which allows her to visit local nursing and senior care facilities to help the residents cast their early voting ballots.
Through her generous community involvement, JoAnn has made a lasting impact on everyone around her. Thank you, JoAnn, for all the wonderful ways you support our neighbors in Waunakee! 💜
