Hey guys, let me share a little more with you to really drive home the point, purpose, and scope of the group.
When I tell you loss, grief, guilt, shame, PTSD, and assault are ALL CHRONIC CONDITIONS!!!
April is Sexual Assault Awareness month, my daughter's birthday (tomorrow), the month my brother passed away when I was 12 from an OD at 20y.o., and the month in which I became pregnant, due to sexual assault, with my oldest, 15 years ago by someone I fled my home state over.
I know you all don't know the extent of my experiences yet, and I so, very look forward to learning about all of you as well. But please know, you don't have to be mentally ill, physically disabled, or emotionally damaged to have a chronic condition and need support with whatever it is you're struggling with.
We WILL have days we discuss physical limitations, mental ones, emotional and relationship issues, and baggage you've been carrying for so long, it's too heavy to carry alone any more. Hear me, so clearly, please, when I tell you, YOU CAN UNPACK THEM HERE!!! The support you find here isn't limited to just an hour a week. The point here is to find your village members and those who relate to whatever your specific plight may be.
We need others who understand we wake up more limited than everyone else in any given day. We don't get to choose to just turn our symptoms off whenever we want and for whatever reasons, we've been through something that makes processing these things alone nearly impossible.
Because we were never meant to get through this life alone. When life is lifin', remember that it's lifin' for more than just you and there ARE people who just GET IT man!
Here's where you'll find them. I hope to see you all Thursday at 3p, the virtual Google Meet link has been posted. π₯°ππ»π―
