💛 Celebrating the Life of Carol Jean Gautsch 💛

It is with heavy hearts that we remember our dear friend, Carol Jean Gautsch, who passed away on August 4, 2026.

Carol was an incredible volunteer, supporter, and true friend to Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes, always willing to help wherever she was needed. So much of what she did was done quietly, without looking for recognition or praise. She simply saw something that needed to be done and did it — because she cared. She cared deeply about GRRoW, and most of all, she cared about the Goldens. 🐾💛

Her kindness, generosity, and dedication touched so many lives, and her contributions to GRRoW will continue to make a difference for years to come. We are incredibly grateful that we had the privilege of knowing Carol and calling her part of our GRRoW family.

A Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held:

🍯🐝❤️ Missing Carol already.

Today, on National Honey Bee Day, we’re celebrating a very special Honey of our own. 🍯🐝💛

Our Forever Foster Honey has a way of bringing sweetness wherever she goes, and there is one person whose love for her made that sweetness even more meaningful: our dear volunteer, Carol.

Carol had an extraordinary heart for Golden Retrievers. She gave her time, her compassion, and so much love to dogs in need, but Honey held a particularly special place in her heart. The bond they shared was something truly beautiful, and we will always be grateful that Honey was able to know and feel Carol’s love.

Today is also Carol’s Celebration of Life, and it feels especially fitting that we get to honor her by celebrating Honey - the Golden she loved so dearly.

We imagine that somewhere beyond the Rainbow Bridge, Carol is surrounded by the Goldens she helped, loved, and advocated for throughout her life. And we hope she knows that Honey is still here, still loved, and still bringing joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

So today, we celebrate Honey for Carol. 💛

Thank you, Carol, for loving Honey. Thank you for loving Goldens. Thank you for the kindness, generosity, and compassion you gave to GRRoW and to so many lives.

Your love lives on - in Honey, in the Goldens you helped, and in the hearts of all of us who were lucky enough to know you.
