The CEO Roundtable is officially underway!

Today, we kicked off our first CEO Roundtable with downtown Main Street business owners, and it was a great morning of conversation, connection, and collaboration!

Sarah Evers shared an economic development update on The Development Group’s current projects happening downtown and throughout Hardee County. New Chamber Director Stephanie Smith introduced the Chamber and shared how it helps create meaningful opportunities for businesses to connect and network. Main Street Wauchula Director Jessica Newman also provided an overview of Main Street projects and how the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has helped support downtown revitalization.

While there was plenty of great information shared, one of the most important parts of the morning was the opportunity to hear directly from our business owners. Their thoughts, challenges, and hopes for the future are an important part of shaping a stronger downtown Wauchula.

We look forward to continuing these conversations, building relationships, and working together to support our local businesses and downtown community!

☀️ A Great Morning at Mama Hen’s Message and Wellness!

Today, The Development Group was happy to participate in the Chamber’s Monthly Sunrise Social at Mama Hen’s Message and Wellness!

Mike and Rena Stoddard have put so much time, care, and effort into this space, and it looks fantastic! It was wonderful to stop by, visit with them, and see all the work they’ve put into creating such a welcoming place in our community.

🏗️ Progress at the Multipurpose Facility!

We are excited to see the progress happening at 217 East Main Street, affectionately known as the Multipurpose Facility!

While we are still in Phase 1 of the project and there may not be much visible from the outside, a lot is happening inside! Our construction team is currently working on the internal structural framework that will help support and preserve the building’s historic 100-year-old brick walls.

Construction is moving along on schedule, and we are looking forward to seeing this historic building take on a new life. Once complete, the facility will house the offices of The Development Group, CareerSource, SBDC, and the Main Street Wauchula Director. It will also offer rental office space for future entrepreneurs and small businesses, providing opportunities for new ideas to grow and thrive right here in Hardee County.

🚧 Gardens at Midtown Parking Lot Progress Update!

It might not look like it from the outside, but there is a LOT happening behind the scenes at the Gardens at Midtown Parking Lot!

Construction is moving along and remains on schedule, with crews currently working on the infrastructure that will support the finished parking lot. Underground utilities, sewer and stormwater lines are being installed, along with the wiring for future site lighting.

This is the behind-the-scenes work that you may not see, but it is an important part of getting the project ready for the next phase.

What’s up next? Once the underground utility work is in place, we should start seeing paving begin and the parking lot really start to take shape.

📅 The current timeline calls for completion by the end of Quarter 4, 2026.

We’ve been watching Mama Hen’s get their new space ready for weeks, and today was the big day!

Mama Hen’s officially held their grand reopening, and we’re thrilled to see their continued growth and expansion as they join us on our side of the street!
