We are thankful for the farmers of Sun Fresh Farms, Inc. they are one of our largest supporters, sponsors and supplier of watermelons each year for our Rotary Watermelon Festival. Scott Carlton grew up on a Florida farm. Today he’s harvesting watermelons alongside the next generation of his family. 🍉 Hear Scott and his family's story and discover what farming means to the Sun Fresh Farms Family after three generations on the land.

The Rotary Club of Hardee County extends our sincere gratitude to Ava Carter, Heartland All-American Queen, and all of the contestants of the inaugural Heartland 250 Pageant for their generous support of our annual Freedom Flight.

Held in celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the Heartland 250 Pageant brought together contestants of all ages with a shared mission of giving back. Through their fundraising efforts, they chose to support local veterans’ organizations, including the Rotary Club of Hardee County’s Freedom Flight…our club’s most cherished service project.

Freedom Flight provides local veterans with an unforgettable journey to our nation’s capital, where they visit the memorials built in their honor and experience the gratitude of a thankful nation.

This year’s Freedom Flight departs Saturday, September 19, from First Baptist Church of Wauchula. Our veterans will travel to Washington, D.C., visiting the Air Force Memorial, Marine Corps War Memorial, and World War II Memorial on Saturday, followed by the Changing of the Guard and wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Sunday before returning home.

To Ava and every Heartland 250 contestant, 💙💛 you for your generosity, your patriotism, and your commitment to honoring those who have served our country. Your support will help create lasting memories for our local veterans and reminds us that the spirit of service can be found in every generation.

𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 13 years, John has dedicated his career to serving others through the 𝗨.𝗦. 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲, 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲. He first joined Rotary as a networking opportunity, encouraged by his supervisor, but quickly discovered an organization whose mission aligned perfectly with his lifelong commitment to service.

John is especially passionate about 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗛𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 and 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆, recognizing that access to clean water and quality education creates opportunities that can transform lives for generations. 💧📚

To John, Rotary is much more than a service organization.

A new Rotary year is officially underway!

The Rotary Club of Hardee County recently held its first board meeting of the 2026-2027 Rotary year, where our new Board of Directors gathered to begin planning for the year ahead. We also unveiled this year’s Rotary International theme:
