Share! Hank & Maggie - Sweet, friendly, bonded pair seeking urgent foster or foster-to-adopt home!!! 🐶

Hank & Maggie did absolutely wonderfully in their first foster home, EXCEPT for one key detail - they couldn't stop messing with the kitty cats 🐱🐈 (no cats were harmed).

Hank (14 months) & Maggie (2.5 years old) are in dire need of a new living situation (together), whether this be a foster, or a foster-to-adopt home!! The most important thing is no cats in the home.

Please help us find a stable, cat-less home for these 2 sweet, loving dogs. They are young, sweet, loving goldens that just need some patience! Both of them are housebroken, good in the car, and have started crate training & basic commands.

Look at this sweet face! We all love Chief! This good boy is 3 1/2 years old, and came to us quite a mess, medically speaking. We took Chief in a little over a month ago now.

When rescued, his skin was in awful condition, his ears horribly infected, he was slightly anemic, and had an elevated protein count. His nails were about an inch long, and he also needed to see an ophthalmologist. He also has an external lump on his leg that will need investigation.

As you all can imagine, saving this sweet dog will be no easy task. The surgery he needs to restore his eyesight is going to cost our rescue between $3,900 and $4,200 alone. Please, please consider helping us help Chief with a generous, life-changing donation.

Chief is an amazingly sweet dog, and is fantastic with other dogs. He loves to be around other dogs, and has so much fun with the other pups in his foster home. Chief is already more comfortable living with a loving foster in the Toledo area.

Meet Hank and Maggie! The newest pups here at Golden Retriever Rescue Resource! Hank is 14 months old, and Maggie is 2 1/2 years old! Both pups are sweet, playful, energetic, and full of love.

Hank and Maggie are a bonded pair, which means they must be adopted together. They are quite attached to each other, and they both love to play with each other!

Both pups are sleeping through the night in their respective beds in the bedroom. They also both have high prey drives, and will not be placed in homes with any cats.

Both of these babies are housebroken, and are beginning leash and crate training, as well as basic commands (sit, lay down, etc.). Neither dog has shown any signs of aggression or resource guarding. Both dogs are non-destructive, and only chew/bite their toys and bones.

These 2 young dogs are just absolutely lovely, resilient sweeties. And they will thrive in a loving, patient home together.

You all know Hero! This sweet boy is actually a Great Pyrenees mixed dog, that was recently taken into our rescue. We just could not say no to him. Hero was found running as a stray dog in Indiana. And his medical needs were just too much for the local shelter there to take on. Hero was in very dire need of medical attention when he was rescued.

Hero came to GRRR with heartworm, a large sore on his nose, a double ear infection, and worms. And on top of all of that, Hero only weighed 48 pounds when rescued. He is now a healthy 83 pounds, and is being housed in a lovely foster home in the Toledo, Ohio area. Hero is completely clear of any heartworms, sores, infections, or worms.

Hero recently attended one of our Adoption Meet & Greets, and was such a good boy! He did not meet his forever family yet. But, the Meet & Greets can be great socialization and confidence building opportunities for our rescue dogs. And Hero was a rockstar, he ended up chilling out and laying down on the ground after a while!

Hero is about 5 years old, great with other dogs, and will also need a fully fenced yard along with his adoption. He is available right now, and is searching for his forever family! You can read all about him and his rescue story on our website: www.gr-rescue.org

Happy Memorial Day GRRR Fans! Today is the PERFECT day to get your pup outdoors for some photo ops for our 2027 GRRR Calendar Contest! Feel free to dress up your pup in their favorite accessories for some added flare! And remember, it’s NOT just goldens adopted from GRRR that make it into the final calendar draft… ALL golden retrievers and golden mixed dogs are included in the calendar!

This is our largest fundraiser of the year, so we want to include as many golden retriever lovers as we can! 100% of the funds we raise from our 2027 Calendar Contest will be used to care for the dogs we rescue. Our biggest financial priority is medical and veterinary costs, among other things. We couldn’t get these dogs the life-saving care they need, without successful fundraisers.
