Rose Day 2026 — Support a Great Cause!

American Legion Post 189 is proud to host its 2nd Annual Rose Day. For a $16 donation, you can purchase a dozen roses and directly support Watertown Area High School scholarships and the Post 189 Building Fund.

This year, we’re encouraging the community to give roses with purpose. A bouquet is an easy, meaningful way to brighten someone’s day — and every purchase helps local students and strengthens the future of Post 189.

American Legion Post 189 Monthly Meeting Highlights

Thank you to everyone who attended our monthly meeting. We have several exciting updates to share!

First and foremost, we would like to extend a warm welcome to our two newest members, Tom Hahn and Shane Wagner. Both gentlemen have already brought great energy to Post 189 with their wonderful personalities, positive attitudes, sense of humor, and big smiles. We are truly grateful to have them join our Legion family and look forward to sharing many years of camaraderie and service together.

We are also excited to announce that we have added two new members to our Honor Guard Team. Their willingness to serve is greatly appreciated. While this is a tremendous step forward, we are still looking for additional Honor Guard members. If you have ever considered participating, we encourage you to reach out and learn more about this meaningful opportunity to honor our fellow veterans.

Membership remains a top priority. We are currently at 59% of our paid membership goal, and we need everyone's help to reach 100%. If you have not yet renewed your membership dues, please do so as soon as possible. Your continued membership helps keep Post 189 strong and allows us to continue supporting veterans and our community.

Looking ahead, there will be a Veterans Day event on November 11 at the Moose Lodge. The Mayor and other special guests are expected to attend, and a late lunch will be served. Additional details will be shared as they become available, so stay tuned.

We would also like to recognize our Honor Guard for their outstanding representation of Post 189 at Heroes Fest on September 13 at the Barris Brothers Café. They did a fabulous job honoring veterans and representing our Post with professionalism, pride, and dignity. Thank you to all who participated.

These are just a few of the highlights from our latest meeting. We encourage all members to join us at our next meeting on October 5. We would love to see your smiling faces as we continue working together to support veterans, strengthen our Post, and serve our community.

Heroes for Heroes Presents: 4th Annual Heroes Fest 2026

Heroes for Heroes is thrilled to invite the community to the 4th Annual Heroes Fest 2026 on Sunday, September 13th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Join them for a day dedicated to honoring veterans, first responders, military families, and community heroes while enjoying family-friendly activities, live entertainment, shopping, food, and more.

🎖️ Event Highlights • Military Ceremony featuring the National Anthem and Gun Salute at 12:00 PM

• Paws for Heroes Dog Walk from 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM. Walk the path at your own pace and as many times as you'd like!

• Police K9 Demonstration at 12:30 PM with Watertown Police Officer Hensley and K9 Officer Chance

• Live music featuring Tim O'Grady Jr. and entertainment by Party Paul's DJ Service throughout the day

• Raffles, silent auctions, activities, and community fun for all ages

🛍️ Shop dozens of unique local vendors offering handcrafted goods, gifts, home décor, apparel, pet products, baked goods, and more.

🍔 Enjoy delicious food and treats from a variety of local favorites including BBQ, pizza, cookies, snow cones, mocktails, and specialty snacks.
