📣 PARKING UPDATE FOR TODAY! 📣

A quick heads-up for our Bread Basket guests! Due to the Homecoming Parade, parking directly in front of the pantry will be restricted starting at 3:00 PM today.

Please plan your shopping trip accordingly, or park on a nearby side street. We recommend avoiding 3rd Street if possible to help you get in and out safely and easily!

🍎 SNACK PACKS ARE BACK! 🍎

Thank you to our first snack packing team of the school year for coming in, getting it done, and having a good time! These young men took turns racing each other to see who could pack the fastest, and it was really fun to watch. They just helped us feed 70 of our friends at Schurz Elementary School and we are incredibly grateful for their support.

But now we need YOUR support to keep the bags full! Please check out our wishlist for an idea of what we need each week. We also always include 2 pieces of fresh fruit, so if you’d like to sponsor a week’s worth of fruit please contact us for more info!

If your family, employer, church or friend group would like to sponsor a week’s worth or month’s worth of snacks please reach out to find out how you can do that! It’s community support from individuals and groups that keeps this program running.

We are looking forward to a great year ahead for our students who receive their bags. Thank you for your continued commitment to helping make that happen!

We are sending all the good vibes to the students and staff that are returning to school for the year! Summer is a special time at the pantry where we see more young volunteers than ever coming in to help us with our day to day operations. We are grateful for all the support and love seeing kids of all ages serving their community. We had kids unloading our truck, organizing our market space, sorting donations, cleaning, packing groceries, carrying groceries out for guests, wrangling our carts, sorting through our produce (big thanks to all that handled that task!), and even running our front desk— these kids did it all! Kids came in on their own to help, with friends, with siblings, with their teammates, with their classmates, and with their entire families! We are grateful, proud, and very impressed with the work our summer volunteers have done. We couldn’t have made it through this season without the support.

We hope everyone has a smooth and safe start to their school year! 🍎 ✏️ 📕

📢 Labor Day Schedule Reminder! 🇺🇸

The Bread Basket will be CLOSED Monday, September 7th for Labor Day.

We’ll be back to our regular hours:
🛒 Tuesday: 11 AM–2 PM
🛒 Friday: 12–4 PM

Please remember to adjust your schedule accordingly and plan your pantry visit for Tuesday or Friday. We’ll see you then! ❤️

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back? The Bread Basket (Community Support Center, Inc) is looking for volunteers to support our weekly operations.

Requirements:
-Able to stand for long periods
-Comfortable lifting 25-50 lbs
-A great attitude and a smile

High-need volunteer shifts:
Monday 8:00--10:30 AM: Stocking & lifting
Monday 11:30 AM--4:00 PM: Customer service, checkout, standing & lifting
Tuesday 8:00–10:30AM: Stocking & Lifting
Friday 11:30 AM--4:00 PM: Customer service, checkout, standing & lifting
