πŸƒπŸπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈThree Cheers for Dave, Mike Katy, Jon, and Brent who successfully completed the Vermont City Marathon Sunday while raising more than $3,800 to help young attend Summer Camps. With their help, Scouting America, Green Mountain Council has successfully met 100% of the requested funding needed to ensure all youth can gain the benefits of a week at Camp. This marks the third-consecutive year we've awarded 100% of the requests making Scouting Families the Real Winners! πŸ†We appreciate everyone who joined the team and other generous donors in making this possible once again!

Thank you, Governor Phil Scott, for joining us Friday evening at the Lamoille County Good Scout Award Dinner honoring Kathy Demars.

The Governor spoke about what it means to be a good citizen and why community service matters now more than ever. He reminded the room that β€œour kids are watching, and they want to be just like us” β€” and that acts of service, big or small, are what build communities.

We’re grateful for your leadership, your example, and your time, Governor. Vermont is lucky to have leaders who show up.

RECORD BROKEN! πŸ†

Thanks to the incredible leadership of Dinner Chair Erica Scott and our 17-member organizing committee, the 2026 Lamoille County Good Scout Award Dinner raised $36,296 β€” the most successful event in Green Mountain Council history! That’s 85 sponsors rallying around local youth and Scouting’s mission.

A huge thank you to the Scouts and Leaders of Pack and Troop 876 Morrisville who served as our Scout Service Corps for the evening. You represented Scouting beautifully and made us all proud.

Thank you to our committee, our sponsors, our VFW Post 9653 hosts, Black Diamond catering, and every single person who showed up to make this a night to remember. This is what community looks like.

What a night for a true Good Scout! 🌟

On Friday, our community came together at the Lamoille County VFW to honor Kathy Demars, Executive Director of Lamoille Home Health & Hospice, as this year’s Good Scout Award recipient. For more than 30 years, Kathy has poured her heart into caring for the people of Lamoille County β€” and Friday night, Lamoille County returned the love.

In her acceptance remarks, Kathy reminded us all what matters most: β€œIt’s not about the titles we hold or the roles we play. It’s about the love we give, the lives we touch, and the times we share.”

Congratulations, Kathy, on a well-deserved honor β€” and happy retirement! Enjoy every moment with Annabelle, Caroline, Hannah, and Izzy. ❀️

Dear Scouts,

You're welcome.

Every year I work VERY hard spreading cans, chip bags, and unidentifiable sticky things along Vermont's roadsides so you have something to pick up on Green Up Day. Do I get a thank you? No. Do I get chased? Yes.

But this year, Green Mountain Council has FINALLY given me the recognition I deserve β€” my very own patch. It's beautiful. It's embroidered. I look fantastic on it.

Your unit can join the Green Up Day Patrol and preorder the Trash Panda patch before they're gone. First Saturday in May. Be there or I win.

Sincerely,

🦝 The Trash Panda

🦝 UPDATE: The Trash Panda is NOT having a good day.
Reports coming in from across Vermont β€” Cub Scouts are absolutely demolishing his life's work. Cans, wrappers, bottles, mystery goo… gone. All of it. Hours of sneaky nighttime littering, undone before lunch.
He's been spotted behind a tree shaking his tiny fist.
Happy Green Up Day, Vermont. The Trash Panda Patrol doesn't mess around. πŸ’šπŸ—‘οΈ
