It's a delicate situation that is affecting all clubs. All clubs appreciate their dues paying members. The funds are what keeps facilities and equipment operating.

However, those volunteer hours dedicated to the work required to obtain landowner permission and then establish and maintain a positive relationship with those landowners is very important to everyone that enjoy the trails.

To members of all clubs, thank you for your membership.

If you can, please give some of your time to keep this sport alive.

And encourage fellow riders to respect our landowners.

For our local members. Trail Master Brent Mckeen has planned a day (tomorrow) to remove signs from Trail 61. PM him if you are available and willing to help.

Thanks.

Even with the limited snow this season, we have had a good year at "The Grill.

With the unseasonable warm-up expected thru Wednesday, we have decided to alter our hours of operation until conditions improve.

Starting next week, "The Grill" will not be open on Fridays. The Saturday and Sunday hours will remain unchanged.

Please come out and support our club while enjoying some great food from the grill. If conditions do not support sledding, come visit us by automobile. You can find us at 48 Station Rd. in Washburn.

Great food and great fellowship is always on the menu.

Thanks for your support during this sledding season. We appreciate our patrons that make our club a breakfast or lunch stop.

And as always, our members are welcomed 24/7 to stop and warm, use the restrooms and/or enjoy a warm beverage.

If you have enjoyed our hospitality, please Like and Leave a comment. Our dedicated volunteers in the Grill and the grooming team appreciate a pat on the back.

Stay safe.

🚨 Attention Snowmobilers 🚨

Sled Dog Teams on the Trails Saturday through Tuesday!

As the Can-Am Crown Sled Dog Races take over the trails, we want to remind all snowmobilers to ride responsibly and share the trails safely with these incredible canine athletes and their mushers. Dogs and volunteers will be traveling the trails in Northern Aroostook County from Saturday, February 28 through Tuesday, March 3.

Trail Etiquette for Snowmobilers (Tag and share with your snowmobile clubs):

✅ Obey All Trail Signage – Watch for “Sled Dog Race in Progress” and “Shared Sled Dog Trail” signs.

✅ Snowmobilers should expect to See Dog Teams at Any Time – Be prepared, especially on turns and blind corners – a long string of dogs doesn't corner like a machine. Stay right, slow down, and be ready to stop when a team is present.

✅ Slow Down & Pass Safely – If you meet an oncoming sled dog team, move to the opposite side of the trail and reduce speed to 5 mph for a safe pass.

✅ Even Better—Stop & Enjoy the Moment! – If possible, stop your engine, grab your camera, and enjoy a close-up view of the Can-Am that not many people get to see.

✅ Lead Responsibly – Group leaders set the pace. A fast leader creates fast followers, increasing the risk of accidents. Keep it controlled, ride safe, and stay alert for dog teams.

🏆 The Can-Am Crown is the largest and most respected long-distance sled dog race in the Eastern U.S. We welcome all snowmobilers to enjoy the event and the beauty of Northern Maine.

🐶 Please slow down, ride safe, and enjoy at its finest.
