ITS TIME TO GET THIS PARTY STARTED--------

As mentioned in an earlier post on October 3rd, Trail Master Brent McKeen has asked that we muster some volunteers to help with updating the hydraulic couplers on the Tucker and signing trails that cross private land.

Monday, October 12, 2026 Brent will be at the clubhouse at 9:00 AM to switch the hydraulic couplers on the Tucker. He is asking for a couple of people to help with this project. The purpose of the upgrade is to allow for easier connecting and disconnecting of the drags. We switch between the old drag and the newer drag a couple of times each season. The old drag is used for panning and brushing the trails and the newer drag is for routine grooming. These valves will be a great help to the groomer operators.

Tuesday, October 13, 2026 Brent will be at the clubhouse at 9:00 AM to begin the task of signing trails that cross private land. With the task of signing and trail maintenance, Brent would appreciate all the help he can get. We have two trails that utilize private land. The landowners have given permission to enter their property to sign the trails prior to the ground freezing. This will make the job much easier. Our hats are off to the landowners for being so kind. We need to understand that use of their land is a privilege and we must do what we can to show our appreciation by staying on these marked trails.

Again plan on meeting at the Washburn Trail Runners Clubhouse at 48 Station Rd, Washburn ME 04786 at 9:00 AM both Monday and Tuesday.

As the air continues to cool a bit and the harvest continues, it gets us thinking about the upcoming sledding season. It's time to get agreements with landowners, equipment serviced and signs fabricated. Cause just after hunting season we will be beginning signing duties and brushing for the upcoming season.

Local members, if you would, please consider volunteering and giving a hand with some of these duties. Contact Trailmaster Brent Mckeen to get on the schedule. And, for the far away members, please consider a monetary donation to help with expenses.

We all know that gas, diesel, repair parts building maintenance items have seen increases in prices. These additional cost will put a strain on the club's budget and it may affect funds we receive from the state.

Thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the clubhouse when those groomers start laying down that white ribbon. Please share and comments are welcomed.

Hey, ladies and gentlemen and all of those that are waiting for that first flake of snow to fall.

I just talked with our fabulous Trailmaster, Mr. Brent McKeen earlier today and we discussed when he was gonna get started with working on trail maintenance and signing.

He is in the process of getting permission to go ahead and sign our trails that are on private land prior to hunting season. Each year when we sign these trails after hunting season, we do have issues because the ground is frozen.

Once permission has been granded, he will put together a workday to sign all these trails that are on private land. He has indicated that it'll only take 4 - 6 hours to complete the task of signing if enough help shows up.

If you would be interested in giving the club a hand signing these trails, please give Brent a call or text him directly. He can be reached by text or phone at 207-552-8814.

Please stay tuned. We will let everyone know the schedule via Facebook once it is finalized.

Hello to you all! Let's get this party started!!!!!!

Here we are, we have just passed September 1st on our annual trip around the sun. That is the time of year we start gearing up for the upcoming sledding season.

Our first order of business is membership. Membership applications have been mailed to past members. We invite and encourage everyone to renew for the 26-27 season. And, please feel free to make copies of the application and give them to friends or just Like and Share this post.

And, to make the process painless, you can renew or join and pay online.

Remember, all members get a key card to the clubhouse to warm up or visit the restroom. And, we operate the grill on weekends from January till the end of the season.

Beginning in the near future. We will start brushing trails by mowing and trimming those annoying face slappers to make your rides more enjoyable.

And then (a bit later) it will be the time to sign the trails, working on washes and other trail msintenance items. During this phase, we'll be asking for volunteers.

Members memberships and volunteers are very important to keeping our club funded and providing great trails.

Hey fellow sledheads! There has been a lot of needed work done to the Washburn Trail Runners Clubhouse. None of this would be possible without dedicated volunteers, dues paid by our members and donations.

WASHBURN TRAIL RUNNERS SNOWMOBILE CLUB

We as a Club have had a busy summer. Achievements this summer include the following:

a. All of the building’s west side roof was replaced with new roofing materials.

b. After five years, the the fire wall between the dining area and the groomer garage was completed.

c. After an estimated 15+ years, the kitchen and dining areas were painted (ceilings and walls) and the woodwork was also addressed.

Memberships and any contributions are welcomed.
