Father and Son Bring Cross-Country Flying Adventure to Northern Aroostook

A father-and-son team is taking on an unforgettable journey across the United States in a one-of-a-kind aircraft. Paul Breed began the trip in Oceanside, California, flying along the southern border to Florida, where he picked up his son. Together, they continued north along the East Coast and recently made a stop with us at Northern Aroostook Regional Airport.

So far, Paul has logged roughly 5,100 miles and 90 hours of flying time, with the pair spending about four hours in the air each day. Their route has carried them across coastlines, state borders and countless miles of open sky, turning the trip into both an aviation challenge and a memorable father-and-son adventure.

With the East Coast portion now complete, they are heading toward Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The pair is recording the journey and sharing their flights online through Paul Breed Live Stream. Follow along at www.youtube.com/

Among the guests tomorrow evening(Friday 7/10) beginning at 5:30pm at the PQI North Hangar will be Linnie Weeks.

Linnie has built a diverse aviation career as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot, charter pilot, and missionary pilot with Africa Inland Mission and Samaritan’s Purse in East Africa. He spent two decades at Sikorsky Aircraft managing major U.S. Defense and international helicopter programs across 19 countries. Now serving as an aviation recruiter for Samaritan’s Purse Mission Aviation Services and as a board member of the International Association of Mission Aviation, he strives to use his love of aviation to serve the Lord.

On Friday, July 10 at Presque Isle International Airport, there will be an opportunity to learn about missionary aviation: what it is; how to support it; how to serve in it. Linnie Weeks of Samaritan's Purse will be speaking. And, if the weather permits, Linnie will have his airplane present that has "Jesus Saves" painted on the bottom of the wings.

In addition to promoting missionary aviation in general, there will be opportunity for teens to learn about opportunities to pursue aviation. Perhaps one day a teen you know will be a "PIlot with Purpose" flying to the ends of the earth.
