As our students are heading back to school, we want to take the time to pray over them and the school year ahead.

Join us tomorrow during our 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM services as we pray for our students, teachers, staff, families, and the schools throughout our community.

Today, we began our new series, Conversations with Jesus, with a powerful reminder from Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus in John 3.

Nicodemus had knowledge, religious background, respect, and a good reputation. Yet Jesus showed him that none of those things could replace the one thing he truly needed: to be born again.

The message was clear: Christianity is not about self-improvement, trying harder, or earning our way to God. New life is a work of the Holy Spirit, received through faith in Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” | John 3:16

No matter what may be hidden beneath the surface of our lives, Jesus meets us with truth, grace, and hope. He does not ask us to manufacture salvation. He invites us to believe, receive, and be made new from the inside out.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. I am praying that the wind of the Spirit will continue to move in hearts this week.

I’ve had the privilege of being in Florida for the week. We’ve had a great time. During our stay, I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with family as well as prepare for an upcoming sermon series. The sermon series is titled “Conversations with Jesus.” For a 5 week period we will discuss powerful conversations that are recorded in scripture between Jesus and someone else.

The first week we will talk about Jesus‘s conversation with Nicodemus. The argument could be made it’s the most important discussion recorded in the Bible. If you do not have a home church, you should make it a priority to be in service with us.

Then, in week 2, we will review Jesus’ conversation with the woman at the well. The title of message #2 is “The Uncomfortable Truth.”

Here are 5 reasons Uncomfortable Truths can become defining moments in life:

1. Uncomfortable truth is the doorway to an unstoppable testimony; not the enemy of it.

2. You will never testify powerfully about a version of your story you’re still hiding.

3. In the hands of Jesus, our uncomfortable truths become the chapters other people need to hear the most.

4. Jesus didn’t meet her at the well to catalog her failures. He met her to give her living water and send her out with a story only she could tell.

5. Your test becomes your testimony the moment you stop hiding it and start handing it to Jesus. .

Nicodemus came to Jesus in the middle of the night with questions. The woman at the well didn’t expect Jesus at high noon. A rich man walked away sad. A doubter demanded proof. A friend was told to feed His sheep. Every one of them had a real conversation with Jesus — and it changed them. Beginning Sunday August 2nd, for the next 5 Sundays, we’re walking through these encounters together. Come see what Jesus says when He meets you right where you are! PS
