Respectfully…
This didn’t just pop up today.

You saw her.
You fed her.
You noticed that belly growing.

And now…
oh my gosh kittens.

And now you’re reaching out.

We get these messages all the time:
“she just showed up pregnant”
“she had kittens out of nowhere”

No… she didn’t.
There was a window.
And 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙪𝙩.

Because once kittens hit the ground, there is no magic fix.

Mom needs to stay with her babies.
We can’t just scoop them up and make it disappear overnight.

So what now?

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁.
𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄.
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻.

But going forward?
The second you see a cat showing up consistently
reach out.

The second you notice that belly, reach out.

Don’t wait until she’s about to give birth.
Don’t wait until there are kittens on the ground.

Because at that point…

We’re managing a situation
that could have been prevented.

Trap.
Spay/abort.
𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀.

And if you don’t know how?

Message us.
We’ll help guide you.

“So when their words come out a little heavy, a little blunt, it’s not because they don’t care—it’s because they care so deeply it hurts.” I love this

Sometimes the posts you see from rescues might feel a little sharp, or even upsetting—especially if you don’t agree. But underneath that tone is something much deeper than anger. It’s heartbreak. 💔 It’s exhaustion. 🥵 It’s the weight of witnessing suffering, over and over again, for the animals they love so much.

Every day, they pour themselves into this work. And every day, they see the same preventable situations—cats born into hardship, illness that could have been avoided, lives that could have been different if only someone had intervened sooner. It stays with them. It changes them.

So when their words come out a little heavy, a little blunt, it’s not because they don’t care—it’s because they care so deeply it hurts.

If you’ve never stood in their shoes, never experienced high-volume TNR, it can be hard to fully understand that perspective. Before dismissing their views on things like spay-abort, returning friendly cats outdoors, eartipping, etc., consider the experiences that shaped those opinions. Try to meet them with compassion instead of criticism.

They aren’t trying to push people away. They are trying to break a cycle that keeps hurting the very animals they’re fighting for.

They’re trying to educate, to prevent, to make things better.

March 5th, as I was feeding my crew, this barge seems to be “speeding”. I’ve never seen a barge go so fast.
