• It’s trying to charge me the full price instead of the deposit. I thought this was supposed to be free!
When you sign up, the standard surgery price will appear at the top of the screen. If you scroll down, you will see a blue box explaining the deposit policy. The deposit for cats is $25, and you will not be charged more than that during the sign-up process. The deposit will be refunded to your original form of payment when you attend your appointment. Gallatin County residents do not need to present a voucher.
• Can I sign up over the phone?
To help keep costs low, the Kentucky Humane Society requires clients to sign up online. We do not have the staff to manage phone registrations full-time. If needed, please ask a friend or family member for help booking online.
• Can I pay cash for the deposit?
No. Deposits must be paid by credit or debit card.
• I don’t see the Gallatin County date—only Louisville dates. Is it full? Is there a waiting list?
There are a limited number of spaces for each s*x. You can check back regularly, and a space may reopen if someone cancels. KHS does not maintain a waiting list for appointments.
• I just booked but haven’t received a confirmation email yet.
KHS staff must review each potential booking. You can expect a confirmation email within one business day of submitting your request.
• I have multiple cats. Do I need to make an appointment for each one?
Yes. You may register multiple cats, but each cat must have a separate appointment and deposit. PLEASE be sure your cat is in a carrier that is secure. Thank you Gallatin county Tiffany CHECK IN is at 8:30 am

Coming Wednesday September 23rd sign up is between 9:30am to 4:00pm You may call 859-643-3647 or stop into the shelter at 4550 Kentucky highway 455. There will be NO early sign ups... This is a first come first served opportunity. Please do not leave a message on the answering machine, as you will NOT be added to the list. You will need a valid Gallatin county driver's license, we will be serving 1 animal per family... Please be patient as the phone lines will be busy.. Reminder: applications are due in less than a Month!! If you have received an application, please return it as quickly as possible. If you need an application, please contact us this week so you have plenty of time to fill it out and return it.

If you are in need of Christmas Assistance and you live in Gallatin County and have students/children age 18 and under that are enrolled (or will attend) Gallatin County Schools please contact us through the means listed above as well. If your family meets criteria we will send you an application.

Do not hesitate! Christmas assistance applications are due October 20 and no applications will be accepted after October 30th.

Sponsors will be assigned the first week of November.
