📚🎃 Two Trunk or Treats, 550 Books, and Countless Opportunities to Read! 🎃📚

WJWL wrapped up its second Trunk or Treat event of 2026 at Howland United Methodist Church, following the fun at Cortland’s Trunk or Treat! Together, our Warren Junior Women’s League members handed out approximately 550 books to children in our communities! ❤️

Five years ago, WJWL launched our Pick a Book project at local Trunk or Treats to encourage reading and promote literacy. 📖 We recognize that many children have limited access to books at school or in their communities, and we’re proud to help put more books into little hands and inspire a lifelong love of reading.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to discover the magic of a good book! ✨📚

🎉💗 CELEBRATING 60 YEARS OF SERVICE! 💗🎉

For 60 years, GFWC Ohio Warren Junior Women’s League has been making a difference in our community through friendship, philanthropy, and service! 💕

Our first official meeting was held on October 26, 1966, at the Town and Country Restaurant, with Fran Cunningham serving as our first president. In May 2002, members voted to change the organization’s name, and in September 2011, the club became officially known as GFWC Ohio Warren Junior Women’s League in accordance with GFWC directives.

From 20 founding members to the dedicated women serving our community today, our mission has remained the same: to make a difference through service, strengthen our community, and empower women to create meaningful change.💗

As we celebrate 60 years of service, we honor the women who paved the way, celebrate the members who continue our legacy, and look forward to the difference we will make for generations to come!

Here’s to 60 years of friendship, philanthropy, and a lasting legacy of service! 🥂💐

🍂📚 **A Little Treat and a Love for Reading!** 🍬🎃

Our Education & Libraries CSP 🌹 and other members enjoyed a beautiful fall evening at Cortland’s Trunk or Treat, sharing book treasures and candy with children! 📖🍭 It was wonderful to see families enjoying the event and taking home a little something sweet to read!

A special **thank you to the Lions Club of Cortland,Ohio** for providing the table, pop-up tent, and chairs, as well as helping with setup. We appreciate your support in making this event a success! 💙

Because every child deserves a little *trick-or-treat magic* and a great book! 🍬📚

💙 Make a Difference Day 💙

Small acts of kindness can create a big impact! Today, the Warren Junior Women’s League is celebrating Make a Difference Day by remembering that each of us has the power to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in our community. Whether it’s volunteering your time, lending a helping hand, donating to someone in need, or simply showing kindness, every action matters. Together, through service, compassion, and friendship, we can make our community a better place—one difference at a time! 🌟

💛 October is Spina Bifida Awareness Month! 💛

The Warren Junior Women’s League is proud to help spread awareness about spina bifida, the most common permanently disabling birth defect affecting the nervous system. Spina bifida occurs when the spine and spinal cord do not develop properly during early pregnancy.

This month, we recognize the individuals and families living with spina bifida, celebrate their strength and accomplishments, and encourage greater understanding and inclusion within our communities. 💛

Together, we can help educate others, reduce misconceptions, and create a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Awareness leads to understanding, and understanding leads to inclusion.

🧡 UNITY DAY | NATIONAL BULLYING PREVENTION DAY 🧡

Today, the Warren Junior Women’s League joins communities across the country in recognizing Unity Day and National Bullying Prevention Day. Together, we can take a stand against bullying by choosing kindness, inclusion, and compassion.

Bullying can have a lasting impact, but each of us has the power to make a difference. 🧡 Whether it’s standing up for someone, including someone who feels left out, speaking up when something isn’t right, or simply reminding someone that they matter—small acts of kindness can create big change.

Let’s wear orange, spread kindness, lift one another up, and remind our community that we are stronger together. 🧡🤝

🥣💙 60 Years of Service, 60 Boxes of Cereal! 💙🥣 Even the cereal is "cereal"-ously happy about helping out our community! 🤭🤣

We’re "cereal"-ously excited to give back to our community! 🎉 In honor of 60 years of service, our members took advantage of Giant Eagle’s **Buy 2, Get 3 FREE** cereal deal to turn a great bargain into an even greater act of kindness!

Together, we donated 60 boxes of cereal — 30 to Warren Family Mission and 30 to Harding High School! 💙

For 60 years, our league has been "cereal"-izing the power of service, sisterhood, and giving back! Here’s to continuing to make a "cereal"-ously positive difference in our community for years to come! 🥣💗

🧡 October is ADHD Awareness Month 🧡

ADHD is more than being distracted or hyperactive. It can affect attention, organization, impulse control, and everyday life—and it can look different in everyone.

There are three presentations of ADHD:
🔹 Inattentive – forgetfulness, difficulty focusing, organizing, or completing tasks.
🔹 Hyperactive-Impulsive – restlessness, interrupting, difficulty sitting still, or acting without thinking.
🔹 Combined – a combination of both.

ADHD can also look different in boys and girls, and men and women. Boys may show more noticeable hyperactivity or impulsivity, while girls may have quieter symptoms such as daydreaming, forgetfulness, or difficulty staying organized. These differences can sometimes cause ADHD to be overlooked.

💙 This month, let's replace assumptions with understanding and recognize that struggles aren't always visible.
