The Senior Scenter We are a Cage Free Senior Dog Sanctuary and Hospice. Puppies Under Protection, Inc. is proud to present "The Senior Scenter". None of our residents live in cages.

Our "Old Timers Crib" was built to accommodate Senior Dogs that have been dumped at shelters or become "homeless" due to their owner passing or entering a nursing home, etc. As much as we would like, we do have a limit on how many seniors we can house and unfortunately can not take them all. Everyone has 24/7 free range of the home and the yard. Many have medical problems and may only be given we

eks or months to live. Our plan is to make sure that they are loved and comfortable up until and especially at their last moment on earth. Most of our seniors are here till they "Cross The Bridge" so there are no adoption fees like a regular rescue. We provide them with EVERY comfort a dog could need or want. The best food, comfy beds, a/c, heat, music, TV and LOTS of love . . 24/7!! If you like what we do, there are several ways you can help! We depend greatly on volunteers and donations so please message us with any questions.

💕 Living Their Best Life! 💕🐾

One of the greatest gifts at the Sanctuary is having amazing volunteers like Pam Coomes and her husband, who open their hearts and home to our pups. ❤️

Pam and her husband are currently fostering Sinatra, Ethel, and Molly, and judging by this picture… these three have definitely figured out that they have landed in a pretty wonderful place! 🥰🐶🐶🐶

Cozy beds, plenty of love, and a whole lot of being spoiled… they are absolutely living their best life! 💗

We are so grateful to Pam and her husband for giving these sweet pups a safe, loving place to call home while they are in foster. It truly takes a village, and we are so lucky to have people like them in ours. 🐾❤️

💗 Honey Bun Update! 💗

We have some GOOD NEWS to share about our sweet Honey Bun! 🐾❤️

After everything this little girl went through with her surgery, she stayed two nights at the vet for observation so Dr. Marshall and his team could keep a close eye on her and make sure she was healing properly.

And now… HONEY BUN IS HOME! 🥰🎉🐶

She still has plenty of healing ahead of her, and we’re taking things slowly and giving her lots of rest, love, and TLC. But having her back home with her Sanctuary family is exactly where we want her to be. 💕🏡

Thank you to everyone who has been praying, sending healing vibes, and keeping our tough little girl in your thoughts. 🙏❤️ It means more than you know.

💗 Honey Bun Update 💗

We discovered that Honey Bun had a mass that appeared very quickly in her inguinal area. We weren't sure if it was a hernia or another mammary mass, so surgery was scheduled for today with Dr. Marshall.

Our sweet little Honey Bun went through a very long and difficult surgery today. 🙏🐾

During surgery, they discovered that part of her intestine had gone into her inguinal hernia and had become cut off. Dr. Marshall also had to remove a section of her colon. Somehow, by the grace of God, her body had managed to contain the damage, and thankfully there was NO peritonitis. 🙏❤️

He also removed all of her remaining mammary tissue to give her the best chance of removing any cancer that may have been present.

Honey Bun had some trouble regulating her temperature during surgery, and her blood pressure was dropping, so she has certainly been through a lot. She is slowly waking up now, but she is not completely out of the woods yet. The section of colon that was removed now has to heal where the two ends were joined back together.

She will be staying at the hospital overnight and is currently strictly on fluids while they closely monitor her.

This little lady is one tough cookie, and we are so incredibly grateful for the care she is receiving. 💕🐶

For tonight, there is nothing more we can do but PRAY. 🙏

Please keep sending those healing vibes, prayers, and positive thoughts to our Honey Bun. She has already shown us just how strong she is.
