讓「責任」成為成長最棒的夥伴！⭐️

天冷應該穿短褲，還是應該穿上保暖的衣物？答案對成年人來說或許理所當然，但對孩子們來說，這是他們學習「責任」的過程。

本週品格教育課堂，繪本故事《A Little Spot of Responsibility》將抽象的品格化為生活小妙招，引導孩子們思考：如何「做出好的選擇」，從應該帶蘋果還是巧克力當點心，到隨意亂丟還是妥善收好文具用品，引導孩子思考選項、做出負責任的判斷。二年級的孩子展現了滿滿自信，大家踴躍且響亮地朗誦繪本內容，在慈濟教育志工的溫暖陪伴下，讓心中的Spot of Responsibility成長茁壯！

Making "Responsibility" the Best Companion for Growth! ⭐️

Should you wear shorts on a cold day, or bundle up in warm clothes? While the answer seems obvious to adults, for children, it is an essential step in learning about "responsibility."

In this week's character education class, the picture book A Little Spot of Responsibility turned abstract values into practical everyday tips. The children were guided to reflect on how to "make good choices"—from deciding whether to bring an apple or chocolate for a snack, to properly putting away school supplies instead of leaving them scattered. Our second graders showed incredible confidence as they enthusiastically recited the story aloud!

With the warm support and companionship of Tzu Chi education volunteers, these young learners' "Spot of Responsibility" in their hearts grow stronger every day!

【寶特瓶真的能變成衣服？🌱👕】
品格教育團隊本週為仙林國小環保社的小朋友帶來一場用雙手感受的永續體驗。我們帶孩子一步步看見塑膠廢棄物如何重生為衣物線材，當他們摸著柔軟的樣品布料，環保不再只是課本上的概念，而是真切的驚喜。接著登場的是回收物分類挑戰，孩子們熱烈討論、認真分工，親手將愛護地球的責任與減量意識種進心底。💕

Can plastic bottles really turn into clothes? 🌱👕
This week, Character Education Team brought a hands-on sustainability experience to the Recycle-club students at Shelyn Elementary School.
We walked the kids step-by-step through the journey of how plastic waste is reborn into clothing yarn. As they touched the soft fabric samples, environmental protection transformed from a textbook concept into a genuine sense of wonder!
Next came the recycling sorting challenge! With animated discussions and thoughtful teamwork, the kids planted a true sense of responsibility for the Earth and waste reduction deep in their hearts. 💕

🦋 一隻小小的蝴蝶，可以飛多遠？

牠能飛過千里，也能把不同國家的孩子，輕輕連在一起。

這個秋天，慈濟核桃課後班的孩子們，跟著帝王蝶展開了一趟特別的旅行。他們走進剛取得「帝王蝶驛站」認證的核桃生命科學農場，蹲在乳草旁，專注地尋找毛毛蟲和蝴蝶留下的小小足跡；回到教室，再一筆一畫寫下想對遠方朋友說的話，親手做好一隻隻紙蝴蝶，寄往墨西哥。

有孩子寫道：「雖然我們住得很遠，但是蝴蝶讓我們成為朋友。」

秋天，我們送出祝福；明年春天，當真正的帝王蝶北返，墨西哥的孩子也會把他們的信和蝴蝶寄回來。一去一回之間，素未謀面的孩子，因為一隻蝴蝶而有了連結。💌

蝴蝶沒有國界，守護地球也沒有國界。願這份愛，跟著蝴蝶的翅膀，飛得更遠、更遠。🌎💚

🦋 How far can one little butterfly fly?

Far enough to cross thousands of miles, and to gently connect children across countries.

This fall, students from the Tzu Chi Walnut After-School Program followed the monarch butterfly on a journey of their own. They visited the Tzu Chi Walnut Life Science Garden, which recently earned its official Monarch Waystation certification, and crouched beside the milkweed to look for caterpillars and the tiny traces butterflies leave behind. Back in the classroom, they wrote messages to faraway friends and made paper butterflies by hand, all headed to Mexico.

One child wrote: “Even though we live far apart, butterflies make us friends.”

We send our wishes in autumn. Next spring, when the real monarchs fly north again, children in Mexico will send their letters and butterflies back to us. Back and forth, children who have never met are connected by a single butterfly. 💌

Butterflies have no borders, and neither does caring for our Earth. May this love travel far on their wings. 🌎💚

We would love to share this heartwarming story with our Tzu Chi family and friends!

Through the Symbolic Monarch Migration project, students from the Tzu Chi Walnut Aftercare Program followed the migration journey of monarch butterflies, embarking on a meaningful learning experience that brought together environmental exploration, life education, and international cultural exchange.

🌱 From exploring the Tzu Chi Walnut Life Science Garden and learning about the monarch butterfly's life cycle and habitat to creating colorful butterflies filled with love and blessings, our students discovered the importance of respecting life and protecting nature. Through these little butterflies, they also sent their love and care for our planet across borders.

🦋 Little butterflies carry great love!

Education is more than sharing knowledge. It is about planting seeds of kindness and compassion in children's hearts. By learning about a butterfly, children begin to appreciate and respect all living beings. By protecting a small habitat, they develop a sense of responsibility for caring for our planet.

教育志業的大大家長——家蕙（Paulina）師姑，回到大愛幼兒園了。💕

站在二十年的照片前，大家一邊看、一邊指著照片聊起往事。從並肩回顧到相互擁抱，最讓我感動的，是這份家人般的親近。

一張張照片，記錄著孩子的成長，也留下許多人共同付出的足跡。二十年的教育路，因為有大家的用心，才有這些值得珍惜的回憶。

慈濟教育的人文，就在彼此關懷、感恩與珍惜的日常裡，繼續陪伴著孩子長大。

Paulina Shigu, a beloved guiding figure in Tzu Chi Education, returned to Da Ai Preschool. 💕

Standing together before photos spanning twenty years, everyone pointed out moments from the past and shared memories. From looking back side by side to exchanging embraces, what moved me most was the closeness of family.

These photographs record the children’s growth and the dedication of so many people. Twenty years of care have given us much to cherish.

Tzu Chi’s values live on in everyday acts of caring, gratitude, and appreciation—and in the people who continue to nurture our children.

學會自我照顧，是長大的第一步！ 🌱
在本週艾克斯丹小學一年級的品格教育課堂中，孩子們跟著繪本《All by myself》的腳步，展開了一場探索「責任」與「自主能力」的旅程。繪本裡的每一個情境，都是孩子們的日常生活，引導他們思考自己在家庭與學校中扮演的角色，並學習承擔屬於自己的小責任。
品格教育團隊也特製教學道具，讓小朋友們可以親手練習：

✨ 正確刷牙方法，守護牙齒健康
✨ 練習綁鞋帶，培養手眼協調與耐心

對一年級的孩子來說，或許還不適應小學課堂，而慈濟教育志工的陪伴，不僅引領他們露出笑容，也更融入課堂，在傳授技能與知識之外，教育更是心與心的靠近。感謝每一位默默奉獻愛的志工！❤️

Learning to take care of oneself is the very first step of growing up! 🌱
In this week’s Character Education class for first graders at Ekstrand Elementary, students embarked on a journey of exploring "responsibility" and "self-reliance" through the picture book All by Myself. Every scenario in the book mirrors their daily lives, guiding them to reflect on their roles at home and school while learning to embrace their own little responsibilities.
To help them practice, the Character Education team specially crafted interactive teaching tools for hands-on learning:
✨ Brushing teeth correctly to protect dental health
✨ Tying shoelaces to develop hand-eye coordination and patience

For first graders, adapting to an elementary school environment isn't always easy. The warm companionship of the Tzu Chi volunteers not only brought bright smiles to their faces but also helped them feel more comfortable and engaged in class. Beyond imparting knowledge and skills, true education is about connecting heart to heart. Big thanks to all our incredible volunteers! ❤️
