❤️🇺🇸 FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART… THANK YOU. 🇺🇸❤️
As I sit back and reflect on this year’s Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Memorial World Championship Cookoff, I honestly don’t know if there are enough words to express how grateful I am.
An event like this doesn’t happen because of one person. It takes an army of people giving their time, their talents, their resources, and sometimes just stepping in and saying, “What do you need?”
To our sponsors — thank you for believing in this event and the mission behind it. Your generosity makes so much of what we do possible.
To our volunteers, board members, Jellystone Park Waller staff, judges, KCBS Reps, Waller JROTC, Tomball VFW, entertainment, auction donors, cooks and BBQ teams — THANK YOU. Whether you worked for months behind the scenes, showed up before the sun came up, stayed late, donated something, cooked, judged, carried tables, answered questions, solved problems, or jumped in wherever you were needed… you were a part of making this weekend a success.
To our Kids Que families and young cooks, thank you for bringing the next generation into something we love so much. Watching those kids compete is always one of the highlights of the weekend.To every person who bought a ticket, bid in the auction, purchased a raffle ticket, shared a post, invited a friend, attended the VIP Dinner, walked through the cookoff or simply supported us from afar — you mattered, too.
And to the BBQ community… thank you for continuing to show up. You travel, spend your own money, work incredibly hard and still find time to support a cause bigger than yourselves. I will never take that for granted.
There were long days, late nights, stressful moments, last-minute changes, lots of phone calls and probably a few moments when we all wondered how we were going to pull it off. 😂 But we did.
And we did it together.
Most importantly, we never forgot WHY we do this.
Being entrusted with directing this event is something I carry very close to my heart. Seeing so many people come together in Danny’s name makes every long day and sleepless night worth it.
If I haven’t personally thanked you yet, please know that I see you, I appreciate you, and I could not have done this without you.
