💰 FULL-TIME PAY & BENEFITS
• Starting pay: $21.80/hour — $63,490 annually, excluding FLSA overtime
• Firefighter top-out pay: $90,156 annually
• 48/96 schedule
• Certification pay up to $150/month
• Education pay up to $100/month
• TMRS retirement: 2:1 match, 7% contribution, and vesting after 5 years
• Longevity incentive
• Tuition reimbursement

Part-time firefighters are not eligible for benefits.

• TCFP Basic Structural Firefighter OR IFSAC Firefighter II

Tomball’s New Sam’s Club Will Open Its Doors Nov. 19

Shoppers in Tomball will soon be able to buy in bulk closer to home. Sam’s Club, the warehouse store owned by Walmart, plans to open its first Tomball location on Nov. 19. The new store sits at 13255 N. Grand Parkway and covers about 166,664 square feet. It will be the company’s 19th store in the Houston region and its 83rd in Texas, which already has more Sam’s Club locations than any other state.

The opening is a little later than planned. The store was first expected to open this past summer, but the date was pushed back several months. Once it opens, members will also have a separate gas station nearby at 13609 Rocky Road, according to records filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The Tomball store is part of a larger growth plan for Sam’s Club. The company has said it wants to open about 15 new stores each year while updating its roughly 600 existing locations nationwide. New stores are expected to look like the one in Grapevine, Texas, which includes a sushi counter, grab-and-go meals, a full pharmacy and an eye care center. Sam’s Club is also expanding its Scan and Go feature, which lets members scan and pay for items on their phones so they can skip the checkout line.

While temperatures have dropped and we’re enjoying the changing weather, the risk of fire remains, and the burn ban is still in effect.

Continued dry conditions and strong winds can cause even a small outdoor fire to spread quickly, putting nearby homes, property, and communities at risk. Please do your part to help keep our community safe. Stay vigilant, follow all burn ban restrictions, and avoid activities that could spark a fire.
