Sometimes sanctuary looks like simply staying. 🤍

When someone we love is walking through a storm, we don’t have to have the right words or all the answers. We can sit beside them. Hold their hand. Help carry what feels too heavy to carry alone.

God promises to be our strength and our safe place—and in His strength, we can become a place of safety for others, too.

Through our partnership with Rehema House in Kenya, young mothers and their babies are experiencing this kind of sanctuary: showing up for one another, carrying one another’s burdens, and discovering the strength found in being present.

We make space for His presence, protect the peace He gives, and let it overflow into the way we love and care for others.
These are a few of our hills we’ll die on. 🕊️

We make space for God to meet us before we try to make space for others.

We refuse to wear burnout as a badge of honor.

We receive grace, peace, love, and belonging from God so we can extend them to others.

Boundaries aren’t selfish when they guard what God is cultivating within us.

We want our presence to communicate: You are seen. You are valued. You belong.

What we accomplish will never determine how deeply we are loved by God.

God cares more about who we are becoming not just what we are accomplishing.

When we find refuge in God, we become people who create refuge for others.

⚽️ What a night with the Houston Dynamo! 🧡

This summer, a group of families from our ESOL program got to experience a Dynamo game together—and it ended up being even more special than we imagined.

Our group was invited onto the field during the starting ceremonies to help carry the flags before the game! Then we spent the evening cheering on the Dynamo together… all the way to a WIN! 🙌⚽️

For the women in our ESOL classes, learning English goes far beyond the classroom. It’s about building confidence, connecting with neighbors, experiencing new things as a family, and feeling more at home in their community.

Sometimes learning looks like a classroom. And sometimes it looks like cheering together from the stands. 🧡

We’re so grateful to the Houston Dynamo for helping create such a memorable night for these families and thanks to you, our MHG community for giving to make this night happen.

On Women’s Equality Day, we celebrate how far women have come while recognizing that, for millions around the world, opportunity is still out of reach.

At Mercy House Global, we believe every woman deserves the opportunity to flourish—to discover her God-given purpose, provide for her family, and build a future filled with hope.

From English literacy classes, paid internships, and dignified work in Houston to education, vocational training, and continued support for young mothers in Kenya, we’re creating pathways to restoration—together.

Because when a woman is given opportunity, the impact reaches far beyond her. It strengthens families, changes communities, and transforms generations.
