On the Minnesota transportation bill, paying attention to the legislature and contacting your representatives does work.

Current Status: Due to significant feedback from car enthusiasts, the bill was pulled from the Transportation Committee agenda and, as of March 22-23, 2026, it was not expected to move forward in its current form.

A POSTING ON MINNESOTA STREET ROD ASSOCIATION’s FB SITE.

A threat that might affect visitors to the state and would probably kill Back to the 50’s, weeknight cruises and car shows. Let’s be alert for any hint that Wisconsin might consider a bill like this.

Oppose HF3865 🚨
Minnesota’s car culture is facing a MAJOR THREAT. A new bill (HF 3865) has been introduced that would strictly limit when we can drive our collector-plated vehicles.
If this bill passes, your classic car/truck becomes a "weekend-only" vehicle:
Saturdays & Sundays ONLY (Sunrise to Sunset)
FRIDAY OF BACK TO THE 50’s POTENTIALLY AFFECTED
NO weekday cruises or evening drives.
NO driving to Wednesday night roll-ins or local meets.
NO weekday test drives after getting work done at the shop, or off school/work.
The only exception is for "parades and exhibitions," which is way too vague and leaves every one of us at RISK for a ticket just for enjoying our hobby!!

The hearing is THIS MONDAY, March 23rd at 1:00 PM. We need to flood the committee’s inbox before 8:00 AM Monday so our opposition is on the official record.

Restricting collector vehicles to weekends only hurts our local community events, prevents proper maintenance/testing during business hours, and unfairly targets law-paying hobbyists. Please vote NO on this bill."
