🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 NOTICE!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Given the upcoming favorable weather conditions, the Wisconsin DNR may be performing another Prescribed Burn in the Kettle Moraine State Forest-Southern Unit on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

The closure will affect northern Eagle Segment and a short distance of south Scuppernong, between the Hwy 67 crossing at Road X to Wilton Rd. The Hwy 67 Wayside Parking lot will also be closed for the day.

Hikers need to avoid the area, but if an alternate route is necessary, use extreme caution on Hwy 67 and Wilton Road west.

There will be a prescribed burn on Monday April 6, at Lapham Peak from Hwy C to Cushing Park Road. A portion on NW corner of the prairie will be burned. The Lapham Peak Segment that goes through that area will be closed for a short time (an hour of so). Other trails in that part of the park can be used to avoid the burning area.

Our Chapter volunteers do not rest! It is our Signage Crew’s mission to use their specialized skills in preparing Taylor County for a full signage make-over this fall. These “long distance neighbors” of the High Point Chapter are in the process of making new Segment Signs for the seven Segments in Taylor County, and a couple additional signs for the Alliance. Gary Witkowski routed the signs and 17 Blazing Babes applied 3 coats of brown stain in late March and will be meticulously painting the yellow lettering in early April. Thank you everyone!
