Chicago Association of Spring Manufacturers, Inc - CASMI An independent, not-for-profit trade association dedicated to the development of good business practices amongst spring manufacturers.

CASMI was founded in 1944 as an independent, not-for-profit trade association dedicated to the development of good business practices, and sharing of technical information through ongoing communications among the job-shop spring manufacturers in the Greater Chicago area. While membership is predominantly located in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, the organization provides support to spring manufa

cturer and supplier members throughout the United States. Although CASMI works closely on several issues with the Spring Manufacturers Institute (SMI), a national organization, both organizations are independent of one another, with unique missions, programs, services, and members. CASMI sponsors the SPRINGWORLD® Trade Show every two years. New technology presented at this event brings thousands of people to the Chicago area from all over the world. Since the first show in 1959, SPRINGWORLD® has become the largest gathering of the Spring Manufacturing and Wire Forming Industry anywhere at one time! Nearly 100 exhibiting companies - participating in 30,000+ net square feet of exhibit space - demonstrate machinery, show raw materials, test equipment, software and other products and services.

for the 2024 SpringWorld, held Oct. 2-4, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. SMI will be hosting an Educational Symposium featuring several speakers.

Today's is: Anand Bhagwat

Technical Consultant Anand Bhagwat will be presenting on Friday, Oct. 4th at SpringWorld this year. His presentation will discuss examples of wire and spring failures and their root causes. These issues often stem from conflicts in wire processing, spring coiling or loading conditions. Anand’s presentation will help attendees understand and identify these challenges for their own continuous improvement.

Micki Vandeloo, who was also recently featured on our new podcast episode, is the President of Lakeview Consulting. With her help, Lakeview Consulting has collectively achieved over $150 million in grant funding for clients in the manufacturing and trade association communities. In her presentation at SpringWorld, Vandeloo will discuss opportunities for springmakers to obtain manufacturing grants and funding for apprenticeship programs.
