📣April Support Group Meeting Reminder📣

Greetings!

Join us for our Monthly Support Group Meeting tonight, where we will once again come together to connect, share resources, support one another, and celebrate our amazing families!

We are in the thick of IEP season and I want to hear how it is going for you and your family. I am hearing from many families who are asking for advocates. If you feel comfortable, I want to hear how things are going in these meetings. We are all here to support one another and hopefully give advice and encouragement as well!

Whether you are new to the journey or have been navigating it for years, you will find a welcoming community ready to uplift you. This is a safe space to ask questions, get support, and find encouragement from people who truly understand.

💙💛 Today is World Down Syndrome Day! 💛💙

On behalf of the Together We Thrive Disabilities Foundation, Inc., we would like to wish everyone a Happy World Down Syndrome Day!

Each year on March 21st, we come together to raise awareness and acceptance, celebrate inclusion, and recognize the incredible contributions of individuals with Down Syndrome. The date 3/21 is symbolic, representing the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down Syndrome.
Today is so special because it's a chance to celebrate the unique gifts, strengths, and joy our loved ones with Down Syndrome bring into our lives and communities. They inspire us every day with their resilience, love, and light.

Last week I had the honor of speaking with the Charles County Government's Children and Family Resource Academy about the work we are doing through Together We Thrive Disabilities Foundation, Inc. and the Charles County Autism & Developmental Disabilities Parent Support Group.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share resources that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the families who care for them.

A special thank you to my good friend Patrice Kelly for the invitation. I truly appreciate the opportunity!

The Children and Family Resource Academy is an incredible resource in our community, providing education, tools, and support to professionals who work with children and families throughout Charles County. Their commitment to strengthening families and building stronger communities is truly inspiring.

I’m grateful to have been a part of such an important conversation.
