With heavy hearts, we’re postponing this weekend’s Floating Lantern Ceremony. 🤍

We’ll now gather on Sunday, October 4th.

This wasn’t an easy call — the forecast brings a high chance of wind and rain, and our event space has no covered shelter for the hundreds of guests we expect.

Just as importantly, many of our North Hawaii communities are still without power as we recover from Hurricane Lala. Our attention and support belong with them and our southern island communities, severely devastated by this storm.
If you’ve already reserved a lantern, it will be honored on October 4. Reservations remain open if you’d like to reserve one or add another: secure.qgiv.com/for/NHHfloatinglantern/event/2026floatinglanternceremony/

At North Hawaiʻi Hospice, we believe some of life’s most meaningful moments are found in the simple things like connection, comfort, presence, and being there when it matters most.

Here’s to the people who make compassionate care look kinda chic. 🌺

Have you met Mahina, our support dog?
For those who haven’t met her yet, let me introduce you to Mahina! We were fortunate enough to adopt her from Aloha Ilio Rescue . She’s been with us for almost a year now and has become an integral part of our family here at the hospice.

Whether you’ve worked with her or she’s provided comfort during grief sessions, we’d love to hear your experience.
