We’re so proud to see Stephen Uhey featured in WACOAN’s People of Waco!

Stephen brings care and attention to detail to his art, and that same approach carries into his leadership of ArtPrenticeship. His vision has helped reshape how Creative Waco approaches professional development in the arts, giving young artists thoughtful guidance and meaningful opportunities to grow.

In his feature, Stephen reflects on the confidence he’s found in Waco and the importance of taking time to connect with people. We’re grateful to see that care reflected in his work with our students, mentors and community.

Big news for ArtPrenticeship! 🎉

Through Creative Waco, ArtPrenticeship has received $11,700 from the Taco Bell Foundation’s 2026 Community Grants program!

This support helps us give young people real-world opportunities to work alongside professional artists, build creative and career-ready skills, and leave their mark on the Waco community.

We’re so grateful to the Taco Bell Foundation and everyone who Rounds Up at their local Taco Bell. Your change helps create opportunities for young people right here in our community.
