Looking for a meaningful way for your child to spend part of their summer? Ballet Frontier of Texas is returning to Waco this June with Summer Intensives for ages 6–13 at Midway High School.

This program connects directly to the artistry seen each season on the Waco Symphony stage in "The Nutcracker," offering students a chance to learn from the same professional company.

June 15–19, dancers will train in ballet, pre-pointe/pointe, tap, modern, choreography and ballet etiquette, all designed to build skills, confidence and a deeper appreciation for performance.

Music brings people together in ways that nothing else can. It transcends barriers of language, time, and culture.

That's what we get to see every day through the Waco Symphony's community programs.

For more than 5,000 4th and 5th graders each year, that moment comes during the Waco Symphony Council's Children's Concerts with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra.

For young musicians in the Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra, it's something different but just as powerful. Under the direction of Music Director/Conductor Rebekah Lambert, students in grades 8th – 12th step into rehearsals, grow through the process, and share their work in two free concerts each season.

And then there are the quieter spaces where Healing Harmony brings small ensembles into the heart of our community. In those moments, music becomes something else entirely: comfort, calm, and a way to feel seen when words are hard to find.

It's the same thread connecting us all. We love our community and the orchestral music we get to share with you. Thank you for supporting us so we can continue programs like these. 💙

The Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra Youth Composers’ Competition is open to:

• High school students
• Undergraduate students
• Anyone under 20 at the time of submission

If you're a student, this is your space to explore what you're capable of. If you're a parent, this could be the opportunity that helps your student take their next step.

Are you looking for a fun, meaningful way for your kids to spend part of their summer? As a valued partner in bringing The Nutcracker to life each season, Ballet Frontier is returning to Waco with its Summer Dance Intensive, June 15–19 at Midway High School for ages 6–13.

Your child will get a week full of ballet, pre-pointe/pointe, tap, modern, choreography and ballet etiquette, all designed to help them grow their skills, confidence and love for dance. It is a great opportunity to learn from the professional dance company that helps make one of Waco Symphony’s most beloved holiday performances possible. Save the date now of Saturday, September 12 for Nutcracker auditions at Joy’s School of Dance!

What would it feel like to hear your music performed live?

That question is at the heart of something new we're excited to share. The Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra opening its very first Young Composers’ Competition.

If you're a high school or undergraduate student under 20, this is an invitation to create something bold, expressive, and entirely on your own.

We're looking for a concert opener, like a fanfare or overture, that could be performed in Spring 2027.

Details can be found in the following submission link. Submissions are open through September 14.

Tweens who love to dance, this one’s for you! 🌟

Ballet Frontier of Texas returns to Waco this summer, bringing the same talent and artistry that helps bring "The Nutcracker" to life on stage with the Waco Symphony.

The Summer Intensive for ages 9–13 runs June 15–19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Midway High School. Students will train with professional dancers while building technique, confidence and artistry through ballet, pre-pointe/pointe, tap, modern, choreography and ballet etiquette.

It is a great opportunity for dancers who dream of performing in "The Nutcracker" and experiencing the magic of dancing alongside live symphonic music.

Have you ever thought about getting a little closer to the music you love?

The Waco Symphony Council has been supporting the Waco Symphony since 1962 through service, fundraising, and a shared love of music in our community.

If you care about music, education, or simply being part of something meaningful here in Waco, this is for you.

Council members help fund scholarships for Baylor music students in the orchestra, support concerts each season, and help bring symphonic music into the lives of more than 6,000 local fourth and fifth-grade students each year.

It's a place to connect with others who love the arts, attend special gatherings, and hear more about upcoming concerts from Maestro Larry Loh.

Membership for the 2026-27 season is currently being updated, and we'd love for you to stay tuned. More details coming soon. ✨

Calling all little dancers!

As a valued partner in bringing "The Nutcracker" to life each season with the Waco Symphony, Ballet Frontier of Texas is offering a Summer Intensive for ages 6–8 in Waco.

Classes will be held June 15, 17 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Midway High School, giving young dancers the chance to learn from professional artists while building confidence and creativity. Students will enjoy ballet, tap, modern, choreography and ballet etiquette in a fun, encouraging environment.

It is a wonderful introduction to the world of dance and a great first step for those who may one day take the stage in "The Nutcracker" alongside the Waco Symphony.
