✨Mission Monday ✨

This season, the Waco Symphony is moving into communities beyond Waco Hall through “Waco Symphony in Motion,” a new initiative bringing meaningful music experiences to schools and neighborhoods throughout Central Texas.

Last week more than 250 guests attended the first free community performance presented through “Waco Symphony in Motion” at the Bosque Arts Center in Clifton.

This program deepens the Symphony’s mission and makes live orchestral music more accessible, introducing even more people of all ages to its possibilities.

Thank you to the Bosque Arts Center and Bosque Civic Music Association for hosting us in your beautiful Frazier Auditorium.

Conducted by Assistant Conductor Rebekah Lambert, guests enjoyed music both familiar and new by Mozart, Brahms, John Williams, Piazzolla, and more.

The piano is in very good hands on opening night.

Orion Weiss, piano has performed with some of the country's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic. He studied at Juilliard with legendary pianist Emanuel Ax and is a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant.

On September 24, he brings that artistry to Waco Hall for Grieg's Piano Concerto, a piece filled with sweeping melodies, quiet tenderness, and plenty of moments when the piano shines.

A LOOK AHEAD: "ODE TO JOY" | APRIL 15, 2027

How do you close a season called "Sounds of Joy?" With Beethoven’s Ninth.

On April 15, the Waco Symphony brings our 2026–2027 season to a powerful finale with one of the most celebrated works ever written: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and its iconic “Ode to Joy.”

Maestro Lawrence Loh, the Waco Symphony Orchestra, four acclaimed vocal soloists, and the Central Texas Choral Society will come together on the Waco Hall stage for an evening filled with beauty, humanity, triumph, and the kind of music that reminds us what can happen when we experience it together.

The program also takes us through memories of the open road with Jon Cziner’s Rear-View and into the warmth of a summer evening with Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, featuring soprano Katherine Whyte.

A familiar voice will help us open a brand-new season.

Waco tenor Glenn Beals returns to Waco Hall on September 24 to begin "Impressions of Romanticism" with "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Glenn has been part of Waco's music community for decades, performing on local stages and sharing his voice at meaningful moments throughout our community. We're delighted to welcome him back as the first voice audiences will hear during our 2026–2027 "Sounds of Joy" season.
