Calling all young musicians! Applications close soon for the Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra's 2026-2027 season.

Whether you're returning to the WSYO or hoping to join for the first time, all students must apply by August 29. Returning students do not need to audition, while new students will audition on Sunday, August 30, in the Glennis McCrary Music Building on the Baylor University campus.

From a galaxy far, far away to the wizarding world of Hogwarts, the music of John Williams has shaped some of cinema's most unforgettable moments.

Join the Waco Symphony on January 19, 2027, for "Star Wars to Harry Potter," a celebration of one of the most beloved film composers as we honor the upcoming 95th birthday of John Williams.

Experience iconic music from "Star Wars," "Harry Potter," "E.T.," "Indiana Jones," "Jurassic Park," "Jaws," and more, performed live by the Waco Symphony Orchestra.

Bring your friends and family for an evening filled with adventure, nostalgia, and the magic of the movies. Better yet, dress up as your favorite film characters and celebrate the stories and soundtracks that have inspired generations.

Ballet Frontier’s Waco Youth Nutcracker Auditions are Saturday, Sept. 12, at Joy’s School of Dance!

Dancers ages 7–12 are invited to audition for the chance to perform alongside Ballet Frontier’s professional dancers and the Waco Symphony Orchestra in "The Nutcracker" this December.

Your next musical adventure could start here!

Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra auditions are August 30 in the Glennis McCrary Music Building on the Baylor University campus, and applications are due by August 29.

✨ New students: Apply and audition
🎻 Returning students: Apply, no audition required

New students should come prepared with two scales of their choice and a 2-3 minute solo that shows off their current musical and technical skills.

Heading back to school? Add Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra to your year! 🎶

Auditions will take place on August 30 for young musicians ready to take their talents beyond the classroom. 

Led by Music Director & Conductor Rebekah Lambert, WSYO brings together talented student musicians, primarily in 8th–12th grades, to rehearse, perform, grow their musicianship, and connect with other young musicians from across Central Texas.
