Save the date: the 2027 Berkeley Omnium is April 17–18.
Day 1 is the Berkeley Hills Road Race. Peter Rich promoted the first one in 1957, and Bob Best won it. The Berkeley Bicycle Club has organized it since the club formed in 1979, and today the course takes the field over the Three Bears climbs near Orinda.
Day 2 is the Berkeley Streets Criterium: short, brisk laps on Berkeley Way and McGee Avenue beside Ohlone Park. Since 2022 the two races have run together as the Berkeley Omnium, and results from both combine into one overall result.
There’s racing for everyone from juniors and developing racers to masters and elite competitors.
The weekend supports local youth cycling too. Part of every entry fee goes to six East Bay NICA high school team: Berkeley High, El Cerrito, Albany, Skyline, Oakland Tech, and Oakland Composite. In 2026 the Omnium raised $28,610 for them.
Registration details will be posted here when they’re out.
