Southern California Basque Club The Southern California Basque Club is a nonprofit organization founded in 1946 by Basque settlers that moved to Southern California.

The Southern California Basque Club (SCBC) was founded in the spring of 1946 by Father Espelette, a Basque Benedictine priest from the Pyrenees Mountains of France and Spain. Each year the club hosts a picnic the first Sunday of July to celebrate the Basque traditions with food, dance, and song. The club gives the opportunity for many young Basques to learn and participate in a culture that was br

ought over from the old country of their parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. Many of the club members today are 3rd and 4th generation members. SCBC is a member of the North American Basque Organization otherwise known as NABO. NABO links all of the Basques clubs in the United States and Canada.
