Nevada Boxer Rescue Boxer Rescue is a nonprofit founded in 2005. We provide a safe, humane sanctuary for abandoned Boxers & other shelter dogs waiting for adoption

Boxer Rescue is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005. Boxers and Buddies provides a safe, humane sanctuary for abandoned Boxers and other breeds who are waiting to be adopted. B&B is funded solely by private donation. Our entire organization is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Our group works for the love of the breed and to see dogs find homes. Our available dogs come from local shelters, from the streets or from owners who turn them in. We are always filled to capacity with scared, confused and very stressed out dogs. They are with us because B&B is their last hope of finding a new life. We are their temporary haven until they are adopted into a loving permanent home. Before they can be adopted, each dog is evaluated for temperament, must be sterilized, microchipped and their shots are updated. B&B has a training program for those dogs who need rehabilitation or have behaviors which need to be modified. B&B stands apart from other rescues by rescuing any Boxer, regardless of age or health. We feel that they are all worthy of a real chance at life. This policy means that we are subject to frequent and expensive veterinarian costs. Medical expenses are only one of the major cost B&B has to pay each year. The cost are endless: food, mortgage, utilities, insurance, shelter fee, and the costs go on and on. Saving lives is not cheap but someone has to do it! It takes over $250,000 each year to keep B&B open. We are constantly seeking funds and support. We need your help. We depend on our donors and our volunteers to keep B&B open to any Boxer in need. We appreciate your compassion by including a rescue Boxer into your life. Please spread the word and continue to support our efforts.

💔 All Scotch Tape wants is a place to belong. Why has it been so hard for him to find one?

Scotch Tape, a 14lb chi mix, came to Boxers and Buddies with his siblings at just 4 months old. They were all terrified of the world, having missed the early socialization puppies need to feel safe and confident.

His first foster fell in love with him and adopted him. But when life circumstances changed, Scotch Tape found himself back in rescue, starting over.

With a new foster, he began to blossom. He loves playing with the family’s small dog, and we got to see the sweet, adorable little guy we knew was in there. ❤️

Then came another adoption. We hoped this was finally his happy ending.

Two weeks later, Scotch Tape was returned.

It’s hard not to wonder what goes through a little dog’s mind when the home he thought was his disappears again. 💔

Scotch Tape is timid and needs time to trust. He can be frightened by some men and may bark when he feels scared, but he is currently living happily with a male and female foster and has no issues with his foster dad. He is not an aggressive dog. He is a dog who needs help feeling safe.

He is house trained, loves playing with small dogs, and has so much potential. He needs a patient adopter who understands the 3-3-3 rule and will commit to positive, reward-based training to help him build confidence.

Scotch Tape doesn't need a perfect person. He needs someone who understands that trust takes time. Someone who won't expect him to feel at home overnight. Someone who will keep showing up for him, even when progress comes in tiny steps.

We've seen him blossom when given that chance. We know the sweet dog he can be.

Please, let's make his next home the one where he finally gets to stay. ❤️

Could you be Scotch Tape's person?

💕 Hi! I’m Starling, and I’m looking for my forever family!

I’m 21 weeks old, and I think I’m a pretty great catch! Boxers and Buddies thinks I’m a Border Collie/Shepherd mix, which might explain why I’m so smart and love learning new things.

Want to know a secret? I’m already potty trained AND crate trained! I sleep all night in my crate, know several commands, and am very motivated by treats. 🍪 I’m a quick learner, so I bet we could have lots of fun learning together!

I love kids and get along great with other dogs. I live with a cat right now, too, but I sometimes chase her because I think she might want to play. Apparently, cats don't always agree with my idea of fun! 😅 So I'd need careful introductions if you have a kitty.

My favorite things include running around, chewing on squishy toys, enjoying yummy treats, and snuggling with my people. Just don't expect me to cuddle for too long. There's usually something much more exciting to do!

I've had a couple of chances to meet potential families, and I'll admit, I was a little sad when things didn't work out. I had my hopes up! ❤️ But I know my family is out there, and I'm not giving up on finding them.

I'm looking for a family who will keep teaching me new things, take me on adventures, and help me grow into the best dog I can be.

Could that be you? I'd really love to meet you!

Please share my post so I can find my forever family!

Love,
Starling 🐾💕

❤️ Meet Mama Lore and her nine little miracles!

Lore was found as a stray in California, heavily pregnant and searching for somewhere safe. She wandered onto a farm and gave birth to nine puppies. Eventually, animal control took in the little family and reached out to Boxers & Buddies for help getting them out of the shelter.

When Lore arrived, she was severely underweight and absolutely terrified. We can only imagine how difficult her journey has been.

But just 12 days into rescue, this sweet mama is already gaining weight and slowly learning that life can be good. Her foster is patiently helping her build confidence, one day at a time.

And then there are her nine little babies! Meet Arachne, Banshee, Djinn, Kitsune, Leviathan, Rugaru, Siren, Tulpa and Wendigo! Five girls and four boys, these little ones are nearly six weeks old and loving their new digs. They'll be ready for adoption soon!

For now, Mama Lore gets to rest, recover and raise her babies in safety. After everything she's been through, she deserves that chance.

We're so grateful this little family made it to rescue. Their story is just beginning, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for all ten of them. ❤️

Stay tuned for updates on Mama Lore and her nine adorable pups!

❤️ Meet Belgium! This sweet 6-month-old boy is looking for a very special person.

Belgium is a unique mix of five breeds: 33.8% Siberian Husky, 22% Great Pyrenees, 17.5% Border Collie, 13.9% German Shepherd and 12.8% American Pit Bull Terrier. What a combination!

But Belgium’s story is about more than his DNA. He’s a puppy who is still learning that the world can be a safe place, and he needs an adopter who understands that building trust takes time.

After more than a month in foster care, Belgium has made progress, but he still has a long way to go. His future family needs to be prepared for a slow transition. He may adjust more quickly in his forever home, but there are no guarantees. Patience, consistency and realistic expectations will be essential.

Here’s what we know about Belgium:

🐾 His kennel is his safe place. He goes in on his own and responds to the “kennel” command. A covered kennel or den-like crate, such as a Ruff Land, is a must for helping him feel secure.

🐾 He’s a star student! His “sit” is fantastic, he’s learning “down,” and he understands “no” and “off.”

🐾 He’s making progress with handling. He is becoming more comfortable with his foster picking him up, but he can still have accidents when someone approaches him because he is frightened. He needs gentle, positive interactions as he continues building confidence.

🐾 Other dogs help him feel brave. He is reluctant to go outside alone and does much better with a canine buddy. A compatible, friendly dog may help him feel more secure.

🐾 He’s a good car passenger! Once he’s safely inside, he settles down quietly and often naps. He seems even more relaxed when another dog rides along.

And his Husky side is beginning to show! He sometimes makes little cries when he wants to play, makes funny noises during playtime, and occasionally gives a few howls. Overall, he’s a pretty quiet boy.

Belgium is still just a puppy, with so much potential ahead of him. But he is not a plug-and-play dog, and he needs more than someone who thinks he’s cute. He needs someone willing to give him the time and space to feel safe, without rushing him or expecting instant affection.

Watching a fearful dog begin to trust is a journey of tiny victories. For the right person, helping Belgium discover the confident, happy dog he can become could be incredibly rewarding. ❤️

Could you be the patient, understanding home Belgium needs?

❤️ Meet Arrow. He’s 11 months old, weighs just 12 pounds, and is looking for someone who understands that the best things take time.

Arrow came to us a scared little guy, and he’s still learning that the world can be a safe place. Since moving into his new foster home, we’ve watched him settle in a little more. His foster has been patiently working on building his confidence, and we’re beginning to see little glimpses of the dog he can become.

One of Arrow’s favorite things? Sunbathing! ☀️ We think he’d love a home with a small, securely fenced yard where he can find a sunny spot and enjoy some peaceful time outside.

But we need to be honest about Arrow. He is not a plug-and-play dog. He has run away before, so keeping him safe is absolutely essential. He needs an adopter who understands decompression and knows that trust cannot be rushed.

When you meet Arrow, he probably won’t run up to you with a wagging tail, ready to be your best friend. He’ll likely be scared and unsure. That first meeting won't show you the dog he can become.

Arrow needs a quiet home, a predictable routine, and someone who doesn't expect him to be a social butterfly. He has no interest in breweries, loud events or a busy social calendar. He'd much rather enjoy a peaceful day at home, especially if there's a sunny spot to stretch out in.

He would also do best in a home with at least one friendly, small dog. Having a canine companion may help him feel more comfortable as he continues to build confidence. He seems to do best with dogs his size or smaller.

Please be prepared to give Arrow a minimum of three weeks to decompress and begin settling in. He may need longer, and that's okay. The goal isn't to rush him. It's to help him feel safe enough to show you who he really is.

For the right person, watching Arrow blossom could be incredibly rewarding. He needs someone who can see past a nervous first impression and appreciate the little victories along the way.

Could you be the person who gives this little homebody the quiet, safe life he's been waiting for? ❤️

Yesterday, two sweet Dalmatians, Cadpig and Perdy, came into our rescue.

We believe these beautiful girls are only about a year old, but unfortunately, we don't know much about what they endured before arriving here. Both girls are extremely shut down and frightened, and both have wounds covering their bodies.

Neither girl had been spayed, vaccinated, or microchipped. It's also possible that both may be pregnant.

Our first priority is getting them the medical care they need. We've scheduled veterinary exams and sonograms to find out more about their condition, and once we know what we're dealing with, we'll make a plan for their spays and continued care.

This is what rescue looks like. We take them in, we get them examined, vaccinated, microchipped, treated, spayed or neutered, and most importantly, we give them the time and patience they need to feel safe again. Right now, their fosters have reported that they are decompressing and sleeping quite a bit.

Right now, we have 70 dogs in our rescue, including 20 puppies under 6 weeks old, and every day we receive requests to take in more dogs in need.

Cadpig and Perdy have already been through enough. Now they deserve a chance to heal, feel safe, and finally experience the love they should have known all along.

If you'd like to help us cover the medical care for these two sweet girls, any donation makes a difference.

❤️ Please consider donating to their care:

🚨 We need foster homes (or you can ADOPT! 🚨

Right now, our rescue is especially busy. We have an overwhelming number of owner surrenders and young litters coming into our care, and we need the help of our community to keep giving dogs the chance they deserve.

Most urgent, we are currently looking for foster homes for these three sweet dogs:
🐾 Stretch
10 week old male Staffordshire Terrier
Stretch is a fun, curious and playful puppy who is always ready for his next adventure. He loves exploring, playing and being part of the action.

🐾 Parton
10 week old female Staffordshire Terrier
Parton loves being close, getting cuddles and soaking up attention. She has a sweet, affectionate nature that makes her incredibly easy to fall in love with.
Stretch and Parton can be fostered together or separately.

🐾 Buddyboy
8 month old, 50 lb GSD/Border Collie mix
Buddyboy is a sweet, gentle boy who gets along well with other dogs. He listens well, likes being close to people and is just an all around wonderful boy.

Fostering is such an important part of rescue. When you open your home to a foster dog, you give them a safe and loving place to grow, decompress and show us who they really are. You also get to be part of their journey and watch them take that next step toward finding their forever family. ❤️

And you don't have to do it alone. Boxers & Buddies covers the expenses while you foster. We provide a crate, bed, food, toys and all necessary medical care. You provide the safe home, patience and love.

Our foster families are what make it possible for us to continue helping dogs in need.
If you've ever thought about fostering, maybe Stretch, Parton or Buddyboy is the one you've been waiting for. ❤️

Ready to get started, complete the foster app: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sa3058&method=online_form_html&formid=44
