What a fantastic start to July! The 109’s have been BUSY!!!

Many days & hours spent raising money and selling raffle tickets for the beautiful quilt made by Sue Minor and won by Alice Parrish!

Walking the fantastic 4th of July parade!!! So many people & so much fun handing out candy, braclets and bubbles!

Ending the night with The Comstock Cowboys performance and the 109’s first auction of some fabulous items!

Thank you to the many people that bought tickets for the quilt, to the gentleman that bought the water feature for his wife’s garden 😉, and also the many cash donations 🤑-

Brody Alston, 2026 VCTC graduate, pulled the quilt raffle ticket on Saturday evening. Pictured is the winner, Ali Parish from Elko, NV with Sue Miner who made the patriotic 250th American Anniversary Quilt. Ali enjoys visiting VC every 4th of July and bought the winning ticket that morning. Thanks to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts.

Today is the last day to purchase raffle tickets for the USA’s 250th Anniversary. We are set up next to the Bucket of Blood. The quilt drawing is at 5:30. We are taking donations to get your bling on with pins and bracelets and feathers. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit supporting the kids in Storey County.

We are selling raffle quilt tickets in front of the Bucket of Blood. The drawing is on July 4th in the Bucket/Delta parking lot at 5:30 pm. Please come see us before 2:00 pm today. All funds benefit the kids of Storey County.

The VFW Stride While You Walk/Run fundraiser, a National Honor Society project, was a great success! Jaslyn Scott was honored to present a check on Saturday for $1,800 to VFW Post 8071 in support of their new building project. NHS is proud to give back to our local veterans and help make a difference in our community. Thank you to everyone who supported this effort.

We gave out four scholarships to Virginia City High School Seniors on May 21st. Jaslyn received the $2,500 Rhonda Paulsen Memorial Scholarship. Olivia, Wyatt, and Luke received $2,000 109 scholarships.
