Living with a Courageous Heart
"Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen." — Brené Brown
There is a simple delight in catching a glimpse of a butterfly floating by or noticing a flower in full bloom. The meadow offers its beauty freely to anyone who happens to wander by. It doesn't hide its gifts.
Like the butterfly, we don't begin with wings. Hidden work comes first. The most important growth often happens where no one else can see it. Then, one day, we open our wings.
Perhaps courage is much the same. Courage is often thought of as something loud or extraordinary, but more often it is quiet. It is the willingness to show up, to offer our gifts, to let ourselves be seen, and to keep growing.
The beautiful thing about courage is that it spreads. When we choose to show up with kindness, authenticity, and hope, we quietly give others permission to do the same. Like the butterfly and the flower, we each have gifts that were never meant to remain hidden. They were meant to bring beauty, hope, and encouragement to the world around us.
