We’re incredibly grateful to GiGi’s Playhouse Madison for partnering with us for Drag & Dab for a Difference.

As an organization committed to supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families through free educational, therapeutic, and career-development programs, GiGi’s Playhouse shares our belief that every family deserves support, opportunity, and a community they can count on.

Peace of Mind for the Satterstrom Family

Last week, we had the privilege of awarding an Estate Planning Grant to the Satterstrom Family, helping another family take an important step toward protecting their loved one’s future.

Estate planning can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re planning for a child who may always depend on others for care and support. But sometimes, the biggest relief comes from discovering that taking that first step wasn’t nearly as difficult as you imagined.

The Satterstrom Family shared:

“It was actually a very easy process. Nicole and I had about an hour meeting talking over what I was looking for, how I wanted things to be, and then she gave me some papers to fill out and some questions to answer. She put all that information into the legal document.

It seemed too easy, and I was nervous at first that I must have forgotten to cover something, but I didn’t. It was such a relief knowing I have put things in place to ensure my son will be provided for when I am no longer here.”

That last sentence is why Morgan’s Caring Connection exists.

We want families to have the opportunity to move from wondering “What will happen to my loved one when I’m no longer here?” to knowing they have taken meaningful steps to prepare for their future.

A heartfelt thank you to Nicole Swails with Wayne Law for guiding the Satterstrom Family through the estate planning process with care and making what can feel complicated and intimidating feel manageable.

Congratulations to the Satterstrom Family! We are honored to have played a part in helping you create greater security and peace of mind for your son’s future. 💜💙

From Uncertainty to Peace of Mind: The Slesar Family

A couple of weeks ago, we had the privilege of awarding an Estate Planning Grant to the Slesar Family — helping Shannon complete something she knew was incredibly important for her family’s future.

For parents caring for a loved one who may never be fully independent, estate planning is about so much more than legal documents. It helps answer one of the hardest questions a parent can face:

“What will happen to my child when I am no longer here to care for them?”

For Shannon, the financial cost, complexity, and uncertainty about where to begin had made estate planning feel out of reach. Through Morgan’s Caring Connection, that changed.

Shannon shared:

“The process was straightforward and has given me invaluable peace of mind knowing that my affairs are in order and my son will be taken care of. This grant made an essential service accessible, and I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to secure their family's future.”

Those words — “my son will be taken care of” — are at the heart of why Morgan’s Caring Connection exists.

We help families move from uncertainty to action by removing financial and informational barriers, connecting them with vetted professionals, and helping fund the legal planning that can protect their loved one’s future.

Helping families prepare for the future often requires more than legal planning. Morgan's Caring Connection is proud to partner with professionals who provide guidance across a range of financial and insurance needs. One of those professionals is Jared Nelson, who serves families in Mt. Horeb, Spring Green, and Baraboo.

Jared has 28 years of experience in the financial services and insurance industry. He provides life insurance, financial and estate planning solutions, along with home, auto, business, and farm insurance. Jared is also a six-time qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table.

Beyond his professional work, Jared is a volunteer firefighter and ambulance driver with the Mt. Horeb Fire Department, demonstrating his commitment to serving his community both personally and professionally.

Partnerships with professionals who provide trusted guidance and specialized expertise help advance Morgan's Caring Connection's mission to promote peace of mind through essential planning for families.

We are thrilled to share that The Original Steaks & Hoagies will be joining us at Delta B**r Lab for Drag & Dab for a Difference on September 17th!

They’ll be serving from 5:00–7:00 PM — or until everyone who wants to eat has been fed! Come hungry and grab some delicious food before settling in for a fun night of bingo, prizes, and entertainment.

We are excited to share that our Sip & Support at Toot + Kate's winebar raised an amazing $2,182 for Morgan’s Caring Connection!

This total was made possible through the generosity of our giveback partners, sponsors, and everyone who came out to shop, sip, connect, and support MCC. Every purchase, donation, sponsorship, and person who showed up helped make the evening a success—and ultimately helps us continue supporting families in the special needs community.
