Since opening in January 2002, Rotary Futures has received over 60,000 visits from area students. Rotary Futures assists area students, parents, and community members with college and technical school research, SAT/ACT preparation, school applications, resume and essay writing, community service, scholarships, FAFSA, and Florida Bright Futures. In addition, Rotary Futures developed and implemente
d the first local scholarship database, which has been utilized by over 5,000 students. This database contains over 500 scholarships valued at more than $4 million. Prior to the inception of Rotary Futures, VHS students reported receiving $586,000 in scholarships in 2001. The VHS Class of 2016 reported $3.4 million in accepted local and institutional scholarships. With Bright Futures and scholarship offers not accepted, the VHS Class of 2016 garnered well over $5 million. Over the last 14 years, VHS students have earned over $20 million in accepted local and institutional scholarships. Open to area students of all ages, Rotary Futures is an invaluable and unique resource in the Venice community.
