JOIN US FOR OUR ANNUAL VALLEJO SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK TOUR BEGINNING THE FINAL WEEKEND IN JULY, HANNS PARK, VALLEJO. It was apparent that the stage was not used for its intended purpose. I immediately wanted to put it to use, envisioning a Shakespearean production in the space, and contacted GVRD about producing Shakespeare in the Park. They

were very excited about the proposal and offered me use of any resources they could provide. In my desire to expand the Shakespeare festival and extend our run beyond one weekend I contacted several cities in the North Bay to propose bringing VSP to their area. From the moment I proposed bringing VSP to Martinez I have received only positive responses. The City of Martinez has been interested in bringing Shakespeare productions to the John Muir Amphitheater since it was built and is an opportunity to present a free live performance in another deserving under-served city and give our excellent actors a second weekend of performance. I am working on expanding VSP to a third venue in 2013, the Peralta Hacienda Historical Park in Oakland.

1 - Lord Stanley of Derby, +ghost of Prince Edward & a Citizen
2 - Lord Grey & his ghost, +Sir Berkeley, Lord Lovell, page and priest

The show will be rehearsed Ren-Style:
We will mimic the way shows were rehearsed during the Renaissance. Actors are only provided a cue script, not the entire play, and come in fully memorized and off book. Rehearsals are limited to approximately 24 - 28 hours (~10-14 days) prior to opening the final weekend in July and runs for 4 weekends.

Vallejo Shakespeare is seeking non-union actors to join our 2026 production. Double/Triple Casting.
NON-TRADITIONAL, COLOR-BLIND, GENDER-BLIND CASTING.

$350 honorarium + tips & lunch at traveling shows.

This is an ensemble production and will also require set-up and break-down at each venue.

Rehearsal schedule:
Dramaturgy Zoom TBD late June.
Live Read-thru in Benicia July 5 5-9 pm
Rehearsals in Hanns Park, Vallejo
July 13-17 6-9pm,
July 18-19 11am-4pm and
July 20-24 6-9pm
With potential extra rehearsal for fight and intimacy scenes.
Due to the intense schedule and style of rehearsing there can be zero conflicts (emergencies excepted).

August 1 Benicia,
August 2 Martinez,
August 8 American Canyon,
August 9 Piedmont,
All shows in the park at 4pm.
August 14 & 16 Vino Godfather Winery, Vallejo.
