🎉 Week one of the 2026-2027 school year is in the books, and the 2026 Marching Season is well underway! As we move into week two, here's a recap of all the information from Thursday evening's Preview Night, including the family Show Shirt order and our September Calendar fundraiser.

👕 Order your 2026 Show Shirt this week! Submit your order online at https://forms.gle/EXarX7C1vowW4C5s6 or return the paper order form to Mr. Gifford by this Thursday, September 3. All payments should be sent in to Mr. Gifford in a labeled envelope by the order deadline. We will not be able to place any orders that have not been paid in full. Shirts should be ready in time for our first competition on September 26, if not before.

🗓 Our September Calendar Fundraiser kicks off this Tuesday, September 1! Download the image below to share the calendar on your social media or by email to ask for donations digitally and use the printed copy to ask donations in person. Keep a record of all donations on the recording sheet provided. All donations are due to Mr. Gifford on Thursday, October 1.

The game was called at half time. Bus are leaving Freedom now headed back to Draughn.

📣 Band families, here a few important reminders regarding student pick up after tonight's away game:

⏰ Students should communicate with parents about the expected arrival time back to Draughn once the buses are loaded.

🚘 When pick up your student, please do not park in or around the band lot to allow room to safely back the trailer into the lot.

🔦 If you park in the bus lot, please keep your headlights off. The lights are a safety issue for our driver when backing in the trailer.

💪 Students cannot leave for the night until the trailer is unloaded and instruments and materials are put away. Students should check in with Mr. Gifford before leaving to make sure all students leave safely.

Thank you so much for your help with making unloading and pick up after the game a safe and smooth process! We'll see everyone at Freedom shortly! Go Wildcats! 💛🖤

Outfit your whole family with both youth and adult sizes available in t-shirts, long-sleeves, crewneck sweatshirts, and hoodies! Order forms will be available tomorrow evening at Preview Night or you can place your order online at the link below.

The Band Boosters will be available to collect payment tomorrow evening or you can send payment into Mr. Gifford in a labeled envelope. Please be aware that we will not be able to submit orders that have not be paid in full by the deadline. We hope to have the order back in time for the home game on September 25 and first competition on September 26, if not before.

📣 You're invited! The Marching Wildcats annual Preview Night is this Thursday, August 27, at 6:00 PM, on the band practice field. The preview performance will be followed by a hot dog dinner provided by FAM Church. We ask that families bring a dessert to share. 🌭🍪😋

➡️ Mr. Gifford and the Band Boosters will also share information about our September calendar fundraiser, family band t-shirt order, and other important information for this marching season. We hope to see everyone there! 💛🖤

📣 Attention Band Families:

The Draughn vs. Bunker Hill game originally schedule for Friday evening has been rescheduled to tomorrow, Thursday, August 20. The band will still have rehearsal tomorrow afternoon from 3:15-5:00 as planned, followed by dinner provided by the Band Boosters (pizza, chips, & water). If any student has a dietary restriction we need to work around, please let Mr. Gifford know as soon as possible.

⏰ New schedule for tomorrow:
3:15 to 5:00 - Rehearsal (meet in band room)
5:15 to 6:00 - Dinner
6:00 to 6:30 - Pre-Game Meeting (meet in auditorium)
6:45 - Line up
7:05 - March to field
7:30 - Kick Off
9:30-10:30 - Post-Game (band room)

🏈 Game Day Attire: Black shirt, khaki shorts, tennis shoes

The practice originally scheduled from 3:15-5:30 PM tomorrow, Tuesday, August 18, has been cancelled to allow students and their families to attend Draughn Open House.

Band members will practice this Thursday, August 20, from 3:15-5:30.

Reminder: Volunteers Needed on Friday!

The laundry is finished, and now we need to get these kids their uniforms! Uniform fittings are this Friday, August 7. We are looking for volunteers to help beginning at 8:00 AM. The more the merrier--and the faster! If you are willing and available, we'll see you in the band room at 8:00 AM on Friday!
