Are you part of a military family?

Scouting America is supporting our service members by waiving the $85 national youth registration fee for eligible military families!

✅ Who Qualifies: New and renewing youth members with a parent or guardian currently serving on active duty, in the National Guard, or in the Reserves

✅ Effective Date: The benefit went into effect June 1, 2026

✅ What’s Covered: The $85 national youth registration fee is waived for eligible Scouts.

It’s one small way Scouting America is saying thank you to the families who serve alongside our nation’s service members.

One more special welcome-back treat before the halls fill with Hawks tomorrow! 💙

Today, the UMS PTSA helped treat our teachers and staff to a welcome-back lunch as they prepared for the start of a brand-new school year.

A huge thank you to Scouts BSA Troop 1775 for girls with Talisha Kellogg for co-sponsoring today’s meal and helping us show our appreciation for our wonderful UMS teachers and staff!

We hope everyone enjoyed lunch, and we wish our entire UMS community a fantastic first day of school tomorrow!

Here’s to a great 2026-2027 school year! 🎉

🍿 The Night Before the Popcorn Sale 🍿
A Troop 1775 Popcorn Tale

’Twas the night before popcorn, and all through the town,
Not a Scout was still stirring—the sun had gone down.

The tables were folded and signs packed with care,
For everyone knew POPCORN SEASON WAS THERE!

The Scouts were all nestled and tucked into bed,
While visions of popcorn danced through their heads.

White Cheddar and Kettle Corn, Caramel too,
Microwave Butter and Sea Salt—a whole tasty crew!

But somewhere nearby, in a garage stacked high,
Were mountains of popcorn that reached toward the sky.

Boxes to the left and boxes to the right,
All waiting for Scouts at the first morning light.

The Kernel stood proudly and looked at the sight,
“We’re ready,” she whispered. “Tomorrow we fight!”

Not dragons or monsters, not villains or foes—
Just a giant popcorn goal and wherever it goes!

For every bag sold and donation received
Helps Scouts chase adventures they’ve dreamed and believed.

It means camping and hiking and badges galore,
New skills, new friendships, and adventures in store.

Then suddenly outside came a thunderous ROAR!

The Kernel ran quickly and opened the door.

And what should appear underneath the moonlight?

THE POPCORNASAURUS, an incredible sight!

He sniffed at the boxes and gave a big grin.

“Tomorrow,” he roared, “LET THE SELLING BEGIN!”

“Be cheerful! Be helpful! Stand proud and stand tall!
Say thank you to everyone—even if they buy nothing at all!”

“Work hard with your teammates, have plenty of fun,
And remember your Scout spirit when the selling’s begun!”

Then he jumped in the darkness and vanished from sight,

But his mighty Scout roar echoed into the night:

“ GO TROOP 1775!
LET’S MAKE 2026 THE BEST SALE YET!”

Morning would soon come, the storefronts would call,
And Scouts would be ready—with popcorn for all.

So good luck to our Scouts as the adventure takes flight…
