Congratulations to our 2026 Livestock Record Book Contest Winners! We'd also like to give a big shout out to Bank of Franklin County for sponsoring the record books and contest for our 4-H members again this year. We truly appreciate the support of our 4-H members and helping them develop important life skills that will benefit them now and in the future!

Come on over to Tractor Supply in Union on Saturday, October 17th in support of the Franklin County 4-H Interstate Exchange Program! From 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., our I.E. teens and families will be selling biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, baked goods, hotdogs, and chips to raise funds for an exciting adventure - hosting 4-H Teens from Pennsylvania in the summer of 2027! The Interstate Exchange Program is an amazing opportunity for our 4-H teens to make new friends, experience another part of the country, and create memories that will last a lifetime! So while you're out and about on Saturday, stop by Tractor Supply, grab something delicious to eat, and help our teens make this incredible experience possible!

Happy Monday to all! It's a beautiful fall day and time to share another 4-H story! Meet Blake of Go Hog Wild 4-H Club. Blake is a teen who joined 4-H for the first time last year and had a ball! Check out his story:

"This year was my first year in 4-H, and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Go Hog Wild 4-H Club. I really enjoyed raising two market hogs and showing one at the Washington Town & Country Fair. I also did the Bacon Project where we made our own bacon at Williams Brothers. It was neat being able to do it all. We trimmed, seasoned, hung it up to be smoked, and then got to slice and package our own bacon over the course of the week. My leader, Trisha, has also been very welcoming and willing to answer any questions my family had. I look forward to continuing showing and doing better every year."

Thank you, Blake, for sharing your story! It sounds like you had a fantastic year and learned so much along the way!

4-H has something to offer youth of all ages, including teens who are looking for new opportunities, new skills, and ways to get involved in their communities. We welcome teens who are thinking about joining 4-H to come see what it's all about!

The 4-H year has begun, and we're gearing up to celebrate National 4-H Week! This past Tuesday, our 4-H St. Pat's King & Queen, Kolton and Hazel of Go Hog Wild 4-H Club, joined other 4-H members and volunteers to meet with Franklin County Commissioners, Paul Overschmidt & Ken Cox. During the visit, our 4-H representatives proudly accepted a county proclamation officially declaring October 4-10, 2026, as National 4-H Week in Franklin County! We are excited to kick off another great 4-H year and celebrate the youth, volunteers, families, clubs, and community partners who make Franklin County 4-H such a special program! Be watching next week as we celebrate National 4-H Week and highlight all the ways 4-H helps young people learn, lead, serve and grow!

Cost is $25/member/year for the early bird registration period, which runs from October 1 - December 15. After December 15, the price increases to $35. Check out the Franklin County 4-H October Newsletter for all the need to know info!

This fall, Casey’s and 4-H are teaming up to help young people become Beyond Ready for career, life, and their future. From September 30th–October 11th, round up your instore purchase at Casey’s, or add a donation to your online or app order through October 31.

Throughout the month of October, a portion of proceeds from select Pringles® bundles sold at Casey's will also support 4-H.

Calling all Franklin County 4-H Members, Volunteers & Friends of 4-H! Join us on Tuesday, September 29th at 4:15 p.m. at the Historic County Courthouse in Union (3rd floor courtroom) for a county proclamation in celebration of National 4-H Week. We will visit with our county commissioners and receive the official proclamation that declares October 4-10, 2026, National 4-H Week in Franklin County. We will celebrate afterwards (weather permitting) at Hansen Park just catty-corner from the courthouse. Don't forget to wear your 4-H green!
