RE: MTRA Update
Hello everyone. I wanted to provide a brief update on the state of the MTRA. I fully intended to do this at the end of 2025, but circumstances didn’t allow me to do that. For that, I apologize, and meanwhile time continues to fly by.
The MTRA continues to move along at full speed. Behind the scenes, a lot has been going on. We have had to defend our trademarks, and have spent a lot of resources (time and money) to make sure the MTRA’s trademarks are properly protected. This is something that is very important and had to be done…and now it is. Fortunately the industry continues to entertain tens of thousands of fans safely every week…due largely to all the rules the MTRA has created over the years and that are in play by builders and promoters…both members and non members…around the world.
As many of you know, one of our officers, Marty Garza, has been dealing with some issues, and has been unable to help in his usual capacity. Marty has done more for the MTRA than many of you will ever know. He has been our primary communicator, and with him not able to work in that capacity, admittedly some of the MTRA news has not been as forthcoming as we all would like. But Marty has bigger fish to fry right now, and we wish him the best. We long for the day when he can return to serve the MTRA and the monster truck industry and share with us all what he does so well.
The Board of Directors and I were talking last week about the need to perhaps do another ZOOM meeting. We were kicking around some topics when I was made aware that some people in the industry were also apparently wondering about the MTRA. I guess this proves that minds do think alike…so it sounds like timing is right.
Give us some input. What are some discussions you’d like to see? And while we are at it…how about joining us and stepping up? You know, a lot of you have all kinds of skills that could help the MTRA move forward and improve. We need new blood. Our critics are quick to point out what we are doing/have done wrong…well then step up and help us! I would LOVE to see some younger guys step up to help take the reins. There is a lot of experience in the sport…and we all need to tap in to it to maximize the entertainment value and safety of our sport.
Help keep the organization moving. Don’t just complain. Do something. Step up. The pay is horrible. In fact it doesn’t exist. You better have thick skin, because people that should but don’t support the organization will never hesitate to badmouth you if they don’t like something the organization does. But that’s what it takes. WE NEED HELP.
The board has a meeting scheduled for next week, and we will be discussing a few different topics. Once that happens, we will release more information.
