Today we celebrate the mothers who hold families together and make sacrifices every single day, often without recognition.

To all of the mothers within our Union City Police family, and to every mother throughout the community we proudly serve, we wish you a Happy Mother’s Day filled with love, appreciation, and time with those who matter most.

Thank you for everything you do, both seen and unseen. 💙

Union City FOP Lodge 216, N.J.

This is what unity looks like.

Behind this moment is more than a fundraiser or collection of donations. It is compassion, commitment, and a shared purpose.

The Union City Police Department , City of Union City Mayor and Commissioners , FOP Lodge 216 , and PBA Local 8 came together to support Nassan’s Place and the families they serve. Every pin sold, every contribution made, represents our officers and community standing with children and families affected by autism.

We don’t just serve this city—we stand with it.

Proud to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Pride. Professionalism. Unity.

Union City F.O.P. Lodge #216 was proud to sponsor a professional photo session for the supervisors who help lead our department each day. Investing in our members means recognizing their service, building morale, and honoring those who carry the responsibility of leadership.

Special thanks to Espinal Photography for delivering outstanding work and supporting our union members.

This behind-the-scenes video captures more than photos — it captures pride in the profession.

Strong leaders. Strong union. Strong community.

The Union City Police Department is proud to once again participate in the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey, with the support of our police unions, Union City FOP Lodge 216 and Union City PBA Local 8.

On Friday, June 5th, our team (Run 11A – Hudson County) will carry the torch through Union City, beginning at 49th Street and Bergenline Avenue and continuing south to the city line, where it will be handed off to the Jersey City Police Department.

This annual run supports an incredible cause, raising awareness and funds for Special Olympics athletes across New Jersey. We encourage our community to come out, show support, run alongside us, or consider making a donation to the Union City Run Club.

More details to follow. We hope to see you there.

Union City FOP 216 Children’s Holiday Shopping Spree!

On December 23rd we had the privilege of spending an hour at Walmart with Nicole and Jesus, two Union City students, for a shopping spree full of smiles, teamwork, and some really thoughtful choices.

Huge thanks to our partners for making this possible: Union City PBA Local 8, North Hudson Firefighters Association - IAFF Local 3950 and North Hudson Fire Officers IAFF L3951
