Obion County Prevention Coalition

Obion County Prevention Coalition This project is funded under a grant contract with The State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health

The Obion County Prevention Coalition envisions a community where public policy & spending priorities reflect a strong drug free stance. A community where all sectors - business, religious, education, neighborhoods, families - recognize the importance of attending to the needs of our young people in order to promote their development of healthy & safe lives.

🎶Day 2 TTI - finding our voice, owning our story, and supporting one another.
We were inspired by Kate Garnes’ message: “I’m not going to dim my light because someone else is too afraid to light theirs.” ✨
Zion Givens challenged us to think about the “Album of My Life”—remembering that every album has a cover, but that’s just the front. The real story is in the tracklist. This was an opportunity to reflect on our experiences and begin designing the story we want to tell.
We also participated in QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training, learning how to recognize the warning signs of su***de and how to help connect someone to support when they need it most.
The day wrapped up with a scavenger hunt full of teamwork, laughter, and new friendships!

Day 1 TTI was packed with inspiration & teamwork!!
Jammin to a v**e free beat🎶
Our keynote speaker, Shaun Derik, shared powerful reminders: Things happen, but what are you going to do about it? and our words can have a lasting impact!
Today, we also began developing our Community Action Plans, turning ideas into meaningful steps for positive change in our schools and communities.
Participants took part in the Red Sand Project, raising awareness about human trafficking.

We wrapped up the day with lots of energy, connection, and fun during Singo!
