Tryon Concert Association Tryon Concert Association brings a series of world-class chamber music concerts to the WNC community.

Tryon Concert Association has focused on its mission of bringing world-class artists to Tryon for 71 years, typically presenting a series of four concerts from the fall through spring at the intimate 340-seat Tryon Fine Arts Center. The quality of the artists presented rivals that are found in major metropolitan markets. TCA is committed to nurturing an appreciation of and involvement in classical

music. Students from area schools are invited as guests of The Tryon Concert Association to each performance and are given recognition at the beginning of the concert: “The students of today are the audience of tomorrow.”

Tryon Concert Association is an all-volunteer organization of individuals who are committed to enriching the Tryon community by bringing world-class concerts to the area. The ensemble of committed board members provides the stability, talent, and enthusiasm that brings the ingredients for exhilarating and memorable concerts together at affordable prices.

It was such a pleasure to host internationally renowned pianist, Inon Barnatan, introduced by our Vice President, Brennan Szafron, on Monday night. Inon Barnatan gave a spectacular performance! On Friday morning, Tryon Concert Association's President Beth Child and the Tryon Fine Arts Center's Executive Director, Marianne Carruth welcomed students from Polk Middle School, who had gathered for a concert at the Fine Arts Center and chat with marimbist Ji Su Jung, through the Arts Outreach for Kids program. Ms. Jung had performed (along with violinist Timothy Chooi) on the Veh Stage Thursday night as part of TCA's season. She both performed works that demonstrated how the instrument was played with various mallets and answered students' questions.

What a fabulous concert was given by Ji Su Jung, Marimba and Timothy Chooi, Violin on Thursday night! From John Cage, through Robert Schumann, J.S. Bach and Leigh Howard Stevens they played so exquisitely, the audience just didn't want it to end! And the artists also joined our donors for our post-concert meet-the-artists reception sponsored by Rossier Realty with hors d’oeuvres sponsored by Gretchen & Larry Boyd!

The Pacifica Quartet gave a thrilling concert last night! The program, from Ives’ stirring String Quartet No.1, Op. 57, to Korngold’s String Quartet No. 3 in D major, Op. 34, followed by Dvorak’s String Quartet in F major, Op. 96 was just fantastic, and our audience loved them too, giving them a standing ovation! What a fabulous concert was given by the Astralis Chamber Ensemble on Friday night at the Tryon Fine Arts Center, as part of our "Casual Fridays" concert, featuring Angela Massey, flute, Christine Wu, viola, and Jane Yoo, harp! What a fabulous concert the Seraph Brass gave last night, and many thanks to the Hospital Foundation in support of AdventHealth Polk for the lovely pre-concert reception! Seraph Brass was introduced by TCA's President, and their program ranging from Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite to Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, kept the audience at the edge of their seats. and the artists also joined our donors for our post-concert meet-the-artists reception with hors d’oeuvres sponsored by Larry Wassong and Chip Boyle and libations sponsored by by The Hare & Hound Pub, Patty Otto - Proprietor.
