Meet Bernie!

Bernie is a miniature Beren doodle-a cross between a miniature Bernese Mountain Dog and a miniature poodle. We lucked into finding him on Graig’s List for Upstate South Carolina. He came to us at just over 3 months old. Bernie is truly a delightful little boy, loving, playful, and a quick learner. Now 8 months old, Bernie has never met anyone, two-legged or four-legged, whom he didn’t immediately love and want to have contact with. When we are walking him through our wooded neighborhood, if a car drives by, it’s all we can do to keep him from running up to the driver’s door to show his fervent desire to meet that person. And he will often find a limb on the ground, usually 4-5 feet long, and carry it proudly like a trophy. We could not ask for a more precious pet than our little Bernie.
Follow along to meet all of furry contenders for The Saluda Women’s Club Top Dog Contest. This is the first year of a new fundraiser, where we will be celebrating four legged family members, our beloved annual festival, C**n Dog Day and being able to raise funds for our Saluda Scholarship Fund. We proudly award yearly scholarships to local Saluda students in support of their continuing their education. Stop by our booth on Main Street, July 10 & 11 to vote on Saluda’s Top Dog.
