🪟✨ Hard Work + Teamwork = Job Well Done!

Having the right tools can make any job a little easier, but it still takes determination, patience, and a strong work ethic to get it done!

During her Summer Youth work experience at the Sidney YMCA, Jennifer accepted the challenge of cleaning an entire wall of windows. She and a coworker worked together as a team, taking turns washing and squeegeeing each window until the job was complete. 💪

Jennifer stuck with the task, showed great patience, and took pride in seeing the results of her hard work. These are exactly the kinds of skills that translate to success in the workplace!

Troy Main Street has been an excellent community partner for our Vocational Habilitation (Voc Hab) group! Through this partnership, participants have had the opportunity to build valuable work skills while helping with a variety of projects, including hanging “No Parking” signs, watering flowers, and assembling materials for community events.

Larenzo was especially proud to show off one of the Miami County magazines he helped place into event bags. Great job, Larenzo, and thank you to Troy Main Street for providing meaningful opportunities for our group to learn, contribute, and be part of the community!

🌻 Sunshine & Sunflowers! 🌻

The Compton group had the opportunity to visit a local family’s beautiful flower patch and cut some sunflowers to take home! Everyone enjoyed taking in the sights and smells of the flowers and picking out a special sunflower of their own. 💛

We’re so thankful to the family who generously shared their flower patch and gave our group the chance to enjoy such a beautiful experience. Sometimes the simplest outings make the sweetest memories! ☀️🌻

🌳🗑️ You Never Know What You’ll Find! 😂

When our Summer Youth participants are hard at work showing off their employment skills in the Piqua Parks, picking up litter can turn into a bit of a scavenger hunt!

A T-shirt? 👕 Yep.
A busted-up watermelon? 🍉 Found that too.
An empty bag of sour gummy bears? 🍬 Excellent find, Brennen! 😂

While the discoveries may keep things interesting, the work these students are doing has a real impact. They’re building valuable employment skills while taking pride in their community and helping keep Piqua’s parks clean, beautiful, and litter-free. 🌳💚

Our Vegas group took a trip to Grandpa Joe’s to check out all the candy and there was certainly plenty to see! From colorful treats to old favorites, it was a fun outing filled with smiles, choices, and a whole lot of sweetness. 😋

📷💸🏀 Learning, Creating & Having Fun at Palm Bay!

It was a busy day at Palm Bay with a little something for everyone! Folks got creative making cameras out of toilet paper rolls, designed anti-bullying bracelets, and practiced money skills by counting play money. 💰✨

And when Matt said he wanted to play some basketball, it was time to hit the court and shoot some hoops! 🏀

We love seeing days filled with creativity, skill-building, positive messages, and plenty of fun!
