Nearing the end of the project. Sod is going down and should be finished by tomorrow. Still a couple of headstones we are waiting on, but it sure is looking great.

Happy National Ellis Island Family History Day.

On 17 April 1907, 11,747 immigrants were processed through Ellis Island. What an incredible amount of people in one day. Between 1892 and 1954, 12 million people have been processed through Ellis Island.

Annie Moore and her brothers were the first to be processed through Ellis Island, Castle Garden (now known as Castle Clinton) where 8 million people were processed prior to Ellis Island.

Stop by and see the NJ State Archives exhibit, first floor 225 West State Street in Trenton. Not only do the have a wonderful exhibit, there are some things that are interactive. It’s free to vist.
