For the last decade Sarah Mills and her team at the UM Center for EmPowering Communities has helped Michigan local governments across the urban-rural spectrum navigate the clean energy transition.

In this talk, she'll reflect on that work, sharing practical lessons about how health professionals might constructively advocate at the local level for climate action: whether for the equitable build-out of wind or solar farms, or building more climate-conscious housing in walkable neighborhoods.
