It was an honor to share Tomorrow’s Rainbow Upstate’s services with Veterans Helping Veterans of Greenville today.

I left feeling inspired by the meaningful projects they provide for people who may be struggling with everyday life tasks or simply need companionship. Our missions are deeply aligned because we understand that sometimes the greatest gift we can offer another person is the chance to feel truly listened to, understood, and feel less alone.

One of my proudest moments as a mother happened when my son Ian was 14, during our first Meals on Wheels delivery. Ian disappeared inside one of the homes, even though we had been instructed not to go inside but only drop off the meals. When I went to find him, he explained that the gentleman was a Korean War veteran whose wife had gone into the hospital and that he simply needed someone to talk to.

In that moment, Ian understood something that lies at the heart of both of our organizations: people need connection. They need to know that someone sees them, hears them, and cares about what they are going through.

By working together, sharing our resources, and supporting one another’s missions, we can make an even greater impact on the lives of veterans and the families we serve. I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with Veterans Helping Veterans Today and excited about what we can accomplish together!

What an inspiring morning at Tomorrow's Rainbow as we hosted Pause for a Cause with the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce!

We loved having the opportunity to introduce Tomorrow’s Rainbow Upstate and our children’s bereavement services to Chamber members, make some new connections, and talk about ways we can coordinate future youth volunteer opportunities at the farm.

And of course, no visit to Tomorrow’s Rainbow is complete without a little miniature horse connection time! There’s just something about slowing down and spending a few minutes with our herd that makes the morning a little better.

Thank you to the Greer Chamber and everyone who joined us this morning. We’re excited about the new relationships, partnerships, and opportunities to connect our community with our mission!

As someone who grew up in the Blue Ridge area, it was especially meaningful to welcome the Blue Ridge Lions Club to the farm last night for their monthly meeting and the dedication of our new and improved Puppet Theatre.

This wonderful group truly put their hearts, and hands, into this project. President Martin and Tyler Crane did the hands-on work of building a new roof to help protect our children from the sun and rain, as well as creating a beautiful new front for the theatre to match our barn doors. Other Lions Club members lovingly made the curtains and generously funded the entire project.

What an incredible gift and accomplishment!

The evening was made even more meaningful when Jim Barbare delivered a beautiful and heartfelt dedication that so thoughtfully captured the heart of our work with grieving children and families and embodied the incredible power of a community that comes together to care for its own.

We are deeply grateful and touched by the time, talent, generosity, and love the Blue Ridge Lions Club poured into this project. Every detail is a reminder to the children who come to our farm that they are surrounded by a community that cares.

Thank you, Blue Ridge Lions Club, for helping us create a special place where children can play, express themselves, connect, and heal.

It’s amazing what can happen when a community works together!

Tomorrow’s Rainbow Upstate recently reached an exciting milestone: 101 children and families served through our grief support services. An important part of our program is engaging youth in therapeutic art activities giving them creative ways to express and process their grief.

That makes our connection with ReCraft especially meaningful. One of our families found us through a brochure posted there! ReCraft’s focus on artistic expression, creative reuse, and community resourcefulness beautifully complements the role creativity plays in our own program.

Connections like this remind us that by working together, we can make a truly life-changing difference for families in our community.
