We are excited to host a 3-Week Cursive Writing Class for kids ages 8 and up! This fun, low-stress workshop will teach your child how to read and write smooth, flowing cursive.

When: Wednesdays — Aug 19, Aug 26, & Sept 2
Time: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Where: Brighton Place Library (999 Brighton Road)
Cost: $10 per child (All materials included!)

Our July schedule is sizzling like the weather! Hope to see you all at Brighton Place!

STEM Design Challenge
Wednesdays July 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 2 pm – 4 pm
This July, kids ages 8–12 can take on our STEM Design Challenge at Brighton Place Library.
Get ready to design, build, test, and create using everyday materials while learning real STEM concepts through hands-on projects. Cost: $25 per student for all four classes

Crochet Camp
Saturdays July 11, 18 and 25 from 1 pm – 3 pm
Join us at Brighton Place Library for a 3-week Crochet Camp designed just for ages 10–16!
• $50 includes all supplies
• No experience needed!
You'll learn the basics, create your own handmade project, meet other creative teens, and leave with a skill you can keep using long after summer is over.

BlazeVox Books Poetry Reading
Featuring Magus Magnus, Anne-Adele Wight and Debrah Morkun
Saturday, July 25 6:30 PM – 8:30 pm
Join BlazeVox for an evening of innovative poetry featuring three outstanding writers! We will celebrate two new BlazeVox titles: The Killing Joke by Magus Magnus and Blue Driftwood Fire by Anne-Adele Wight. Joining them will be acclaimed poet, Debrah Morkun, author of Projection Machine and The Ida Pingala.

The reading is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Please come celebrate poetry with us and help support these wonderful writers.
Computer and Smartphone Q&A
Thursdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 1 pm – 2 pm
Bring in any questions you have on computer, tablet and smartphone use, and our technology expert, Nancy Wise-Reid will do her best to answer them.

On July 2nd, she will respond to this question: "I copied the code; how do I get back to the place to paste the code?" Sessions will be guided by participants’ questions. Call 716-332-4375 to sign up

Cozy Up with a Book: Silent Book Club
Monday, July 13 at 7 pm
Relax, unwind, and dive into a great book!
Would you like to find more time for reading? In our silent book club, we all read silently for 45 minutes and spend the last 15 minutes sharing a bit about our favorite books. Bring your book and something to help you feel cozy. Slippers and blankets are welcome. This club meets every 2nd Monday of the month at 7 pm.

Calling All Future Engineers, Inventors, and Problem Solvers!

This July, kids ages 8–12 can take on our STEM Design Challenge at Brighton Place Library.

Get ready to design, build, test, and create using everyday materials while learning real STEM concepts through hands-on projects.

This year's challenges include:

Build a Boat
Design a Balloon Car
Experiment with Parachutes
Tinker with Spinning Tops

Students will:

Create a new project each week
Learn through fun, hands-on challenges
Work with a retired NYS teacher
Take home every project they make

Wednesdays, 2:00–4:00 PM

July 1 – Making a Boat
July 8 – A Balloon Car
July 15 – Playing with Parachutes
July 22 – Tinkering with Tops

Cost: $25 per student for all four classes
All supplies included
Ages: 8–12
Limited to 15 students

Registration and payment must be completed by June 23.
